Opening maps is easy to do in an application Finding reflexives and making things dynamic and global and passing variables and such take much more thinking and work. So yeah...that too does annoy me that people think it's such a simple task...when it isn't.
Haha, Shade...I got to that offset before too (the raw offset). I didn't know what it was so I just ignored it. Wow...foolish of me to do. Well...this shall make things a bit more interesting now since you think it's a raw header.

Found something. Probably won't help much...
There is a class called "play" and it has a tag with a blank name. Go there and copy it's translation address. When you go there it has some reflexives, the first reflexive points to the "raw offset" or the "VirtSegmentStart" or whatever you want to call it. The following reflexives point to the two paths located there. I don't know what all the junk around it is for, but I know that this is true for riverworld and salvation.
Using salvation at the "play" tag:
Offset 0:
Reflexive, chunk count: 1, size: 16 (0x03FE2000)
Offset 12:
Reflexive, chunk count: 2, size: 264 (0x03FE2010)
Offset 24:
Reflexive, chunk count: 3585, size: 94 (0x03FE2220)
Offset 36:
Reflexive, chunk count: 3896, size: 16 (0x04034E88)
Offset 48:
Reflexive, chunk count: 3872, size: 16 (0x04044208)
And then following all that you return back to the "play" tag. Heh...

Making my shotgun shoot beam projectiles and making the world gravity half that of earth tickled my fancy. My camera can only receive the sound out from that tv. For some reason its not picking up the video out, hence the shakycam-ness (one hand on the controller the other on the camera).
However, if you do have stuff (changes you made to the map) you want tested, I may be able to help to see if they are right. Granted I'm not talking about silly things like "i want to see if this tag reference change makes the AR shoot rockets lulz".
