ego much?

Post by wo0ts »

well im not sure how much this has to do with modding discussion but im sure im not the only one who finds this annoying

simply put
the few people who can mod halo 3 refuse to release they're utilities and all the stuff you need to do because the "dont want to bring on the downfall of halo 3 matchmaking" which sounds like a load of sh*t. bungie is a successful software programming video game creating company and im sure they can handle a gang of people tampering with their game to win they've done it before. so if this website is about the modification of video games (halo) to express creativity or share knowledge of software editing or whatever you want to call it, the what is the point of with-holding vital information to the age of halo 3 modding? to save the matchmaking community?
no. to brag and boast about their superior knowledge and to hold it over the heads of those who are a little less talented
so unless there is some kinda of proof that the staff of bungie fails to do what they went to college and are trained to do then their is no real reason to not release the proper modding applications required for halo 3

this is in no way stating that the creators have no right not sharing their programs it states that their is no reason belonging to a modding community if your not doing anything but playing favorites and showing off

No.

Your entire argument is based on the idea that they are doing it to preserve matchmaking, which is completely false. None of the modifications or tools could be used in matchmaking. Matchmaking is entirely secure from mods. The only tool available that the public could use is the container resigner, and that withheld because it would destroy all of Xbox Live. Tons of content could be modified, people would be cheating saves, modding achievements, manipulating their profiles, stealing content that is normally paid for, and so on. The other modifications are done on developer kits, which the public does not have.

So tell me, do you want to destroy all of Xbox Live for the sake of editing Forge variants in Halo 3? Or rather, would you like to have the tools to mod on a dev kit, which you do not own?

Both scenarios are idiotic, so get your shit straight before attacking the integrity and hard work of these people. God forbid they be decent human beings, preserving the integrity of the Xbox Live service. How dare they think about something bigger than themselves! And how dare they have dev kits! They'd better send every member of this site an $800 dev kit or else they are being selfish pricks!

I'm tempted to RC you for this, as there is a very clear rule to not post a thread such as this.
