Member needs some help

I was contacted by a member that is having a little problem with registering:
OK, a long time ago I created an account on HM, I hadn't activated it so it disappeared.
Now I'm trying to create an account and it's rejecting my email because "it has been already used".
How do I create an account (without having to create a new temp email just for HM)?
Could his email address be removed from the list?
Email:
flaming.grunt@hotmail.com

That name rings a bell... he wasn't banned was he?
EDIT: No username was found with that e-mail address. Can he remember the username he created?

No, that would be why he is trying to create a new one.

Well, as I said, searching usernames with that email address yields no results... so I'm not sure how else I can approach this. I suppose SourceGuy could possibly manually search the database, but that would be hassle I think.
Can he not just create a new account with a different e-mail address?

He does not want to create a new email to register.

He wants to be able to browse and download occasionally, but does not want to make a new email address.

What's the big deal with making a new e-mail? It only takes a few minutes.

I checked different variations of the e-mail address, and multiple variations of "Flaming Grunt" as usernames.
I found 0 results.
