Conceptual Site Suggestions
We have a thread for the technical problems with the site, and as you can see we're doing our best on addressing those. Something I'm very interested in also are conceptual suggestions that you might have for this website. What do you think would improve this website, give it a boost? An example suggestions might be: 'Add a Halo Wars subforum', or 'Change the focus of the website'. These are just examples. I am trying to outline here that this thread is for 'conceptual' suggestions.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
I was a big fan of a tutorial index on the homepage, but I don't know if that's too much to ask or if it will be used enough.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
I agree. Everything else looks great though. Good work

Not Removing This
Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
Theme selection would be an interesting concept to try out. As I_F posted, it was not really possible on the old board, but maybe that can be looked into with this new setup.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
I agree, new themes would actually be nice. It would be easier on the eyes to have a darker scheme.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
I have considered adding themes, but that would be alot of work considering the many little modifications we'd have to make to each and every theme we install. You may not realise it, but before the relaunch we already customized alot to make it look more like the old halomods because we knew people would want that. After the relaunch, we changed even more. On top of that, if we decide we want to add new features in the future we'll have to make them compatible with every template as well, or drop some templates - and the response to that would be very negative.
Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
Copy this theme and give it the phpBB2 icons and I'll never complain about the theme again.
No, but really, I hate these icons:
>_>
I wish Stylish would work.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
Agreed. Also I didn't check if it was a setting in the profile or some BS, but when your at the forum index and on the right of each board it says who posted the newest post, can you make it like phpbb2 where you could see the topic they posted in and click the name to go to it, instead of clicking the little icon beside their name?
That was way better..
Also any idea why every guest that posts has Grenadiacs emblems? Was this already addressed?

I'll keep banging my drum! Flash support in GFX forum!
Now for a suggestion that actually has a chance to be considered:
Now that we have iPod touch/iPhone modding pages, one would think that having a working mobile page would be a feature (Just so you know, iPod Touch/iPhone cannot render halomods all too well). What I propose here is an optimized theme for them which thusly would also support most other mobile handsets. The best thing about this is, is the fact that a lot of these mini modifications that you have made would not be necessary to input into this mobile theme. Emblems, signatures and other features would not be needed simply because when you're on a mobile and small screen you don't want extra clutter/extra loading time due to unwated images etc. I wouldn't mind looking into it myself, but at the same time, there is a fellow administrator that has interest in their iPod touch and also has the ability to implement this theme (rather than say me, setting up my own forum, creating a theme with your unknown modifications in mind and the possibility of it being denied after all the work).

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
I agree with Scotty. It'd be great to have a mobile version of the forums.
Also under HaloWars I'd add all the sections like..
Downloads, Tutorials, etc. Because the game will be out soon and you'll need to do it eventually right?
And it'll get leaked ever earlier.

I got Stylish to work.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
I look into flash and a basic theme, if it can be incorporated without sacrificing too much. I'm yet to test the new board/site on my iPod. ^_^ScottyGEE wrote:I'll keep banging my drum! Flash support in GFX forum!

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
My main two complants
I should not be able to read a book using a computer screen. It strains the eyes...especially after dark. Try this... look around in the forum as you normaly would. Don't take your eyes off the screen. After a while of such click this. You can feel your eyes Go "AAAAaaaaa... that is better". (At least that is what my eyes do.) Extra Credit if done in the dark.CabooseJr wrote:I agree, new themes would actually be nice. It would be easier on the eyes to have a darker scheme.

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
These are not conceptual changes - they're technical. Post those issues in the other topic in this forum and they will be addressed. Stay on-topic guys.

It is as slow as shit. :< Needs lo-fi skinGeo wrote:I look into flash and a basic theme, if it can be incorporated without sacrificing too much. I'm yet to test the new board/site on my iPod. ^_^ScottyGEE wrote:I'll keep banging my drum! Flash support in GFX forum!

Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
Conceptual ideas guys, directions of the community/site not technical issues.
Re: Conceptual Site Suggestions
Ok.... I think there should be a lo-fi forum skin made to accommodate mobile users and users with slower connection speeds. Me being the former, would enjoy being able to post here without waiting five minutes for the page to load.
