Question/Suggestion

Is there any reason that one of the staff members aren't promoted to Admins, since the two remaining hardly ever come on, except for occasionally by IF, and if the site's dying by Gren?
Not that there's much need for them as the site runs fine without, but many times I've heard that something cant be done because there were no Admins.

What needs to be done that can't without admins?

Not positive to be honest, I'm assuming that only admins can go to the forum's "control panel"? Anything that can be only done with that.
Like I said, I'm not sure what need an admin serves, but I remember things not being able to be done because no admins were present.
To further the discussion a bit, what matter does it make to promote another admin? Obviously there are some things that are admin only, why not allow for a more-frequent visitor then IF/Gren to be in control of it, so that if it's ever needed it can be done?
Oh, here's one: Banning. Isn't IP banning only possible through an Admin. Isn't that why there are like 50 people in permanent RC, and isn't that also the entire reason for the RC in general?

I've had banning abilities for many months, although I am not an admin. Iron_Forge provided me a control panel through which I can issue bans so that an admin is not required to do them. The RC is designed as a warning system primarily, although some people are in there indefinitely. Sometimes even these permanent RCs will be lifted if we feel the member can be a good community member again, if they appeal it to us. Bans are issued when people have demonstrated no ability to continue to exist peacefully on the site, and need to be prevented from returning.

Oh. I did not know that.
So I take it that there's nothing admins can do that staff cannot? So it would be in essence just a title-change?

They can add member groups, boards, change board permissions, etc. Staff have much control over the users and content of the posts, whereas admins have control over the structure of the board and whatnot. There aren't any pressing issues that need an admin at this time.

Good point, however, I believe that's an issue that must be handled by Gren, as I don't believe either Iron_Forge, or anyone else who would be appointed Admin, would have access to the server settings.

If Grenadiac has little time to fix Halomods, would it be possible for him to give Iron_Forge the permissions to modify the server settings?
