i think the forums need a new layout like a halo themed layout instead of different shades of blue LOOK AT THIS i think that something similar to that but halo themed should be made or found and put on here it makes sense and im wondering wy it hasnt been thought of yet.

No. This forum is clean, neat, and organized. We don't want annoying themes and bloated layouts. It looks professional, unlike 90% of forums on the internet.

I agree, most forums are filled with unnecessary mods and crap.

The radical change of going to dark blue will murder my eyes again. (the transition from dark to light was like a 64 player LAN with 12 year olds [now I'm used to it though]).

In order to ever get the whole new theme idea across, I think you'd have to:

-Design the site yourself specifically for halomods
-Show us that it works with all our current mods for the forum
-Have staff/majority of people like it AND convnce Iron_Forge, Kirk, Locke or Grenadiac to install it, only then it will happen.

Think you're up for it?

ooooo; dark blue... so sexy...

The forum theme is fine how it is. Changing it to something with 'fancy' add ons etc. would just cluster it up and make it harder to read/find things.

@ the ScottyGEE: Couldn't we have it as a second skin? And people would have a choice whether to use it or not? Or would that still need I_F, Gren's or Locke's consent?

I wish we had the old theme.

I rather like this theme...Nice, simple, clean...It probably wouldn't be too difficult to take the current theme, copy it, re-define it's colors, and redo it's images...

Unfortunately, things are alot easier when you only have one base to go from...You don't have to check all new images, to see if they go with all themes, or create different variations on them to suit each theme...It also means from here on out, I'd have to maintain two code bases...This was a real pain to try and do when we had two forums, and I'd rather not have to worry about dual implementation with every (albeit rare) upgrade in the future...And since I'd be the one who would have to do it, I wouldn't hold your breath...

On that note though, I'd suggest you go read up on some color-emotion theory...There's probably a reason we have our current color scheme... ;o)

well i am working on a website project i could incorporate a template into a forum on it that i think would be nice on good old halomods.

Do you have any of it completed yet..? Is it uploaded anywhere?

We don't need a different template. As Iron_Forge said (And you completely ignored), it does nothing but complicate things, and for what? A different look of the site. You can deal with the current one. There is nothing wrong with this layout.

In addition, as much as it will make me sound like an asshole, I must say that I do not trust your graphical designing abilities, based on every work you've shown thus far.

dude...... i understand that i ****ing suck with graphics right now but my friend has a couple templates that hes not using that i might be able to use.

And he made them for PHPbb 3?...

I like it the way it is, it's easy to see everything.

Halomods does not use phpBB 3.

I was joking about the dark blue theme. I don't want it. I thought that was easily derived from my post, and many other posts of mine in the past, as i've been fairly adamant about not putting a new theme up. As IF said, this one is clean, and simple, and these are two of my most favorite things..
