Meh, well I've been noticing a ton of threads lately referring to help with modding the xbox. Well I don't think the stickied topics are helping much about this issue, because none of the newbies read them. Well I thought maybe we should just create a forum about xbox tech problems, not xbox 360, only with the original xbox. I mean, it would be rather convenient, to just have a separate section for help with your xbox. It doesn't have to be about everything just the basics, and I'm not talking about tutorials and such, I just mean an area where users can come for help about modifying their consoles. I know that this is what xbox-scene is for, but I believe this site is more "noob friendly" and xbox-scene is against modding Halo, so I think it would just make more sense if people had this section go to for help. Alot of users here are good with this sort of thing, and I know it would make HaloMods a more helpful place. Like I said, I think it would just be a more convenient little section to have around, especially for the new users.

Just some food for thought. :)

Well, the main reason (as far as I know anyways) we refer people to Xbox-Scene is because they simply know more about the technical aspects of the Xbox and have tons of tutorials and such already. I'll leave this topic open for discussion, but I'm not sure if we'll be adding any new sections.

So, any other opinions on this?

I'm pretty much thinking the same a GTAF...we're not an Xbox modding specialty site, we're just for Halo. Xbox-Scene covers much more than we would, without becoming a total all-encompassing site. It's just a matter of specialty.

I thought it was also to avoid legal issues.

Maybe it could be put somewhere in the rules that if people post problems like this, then they will just be linked to Xbox-Scene.com so that when new people (if they do) read the rules they will know beforehand and it might eliminate some of them from posting the threads in the first place.

moding the xbox isn't illegal anymore, it just voids your warranty

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that there is an entire site devoted to modding your Xbox, and the questions should go there. We don't need to change the policy here. We can beat them, therefore we need not join them.
