Moderators Locking too much?

I used to like moderators because I respected them. But WTF? Some moderator who moderates not-so-well locked my post that looked like this:

Hi, I had no idea where to post this...but since this is the off-topic forum....I can't get in trouble here for posting in the wrong forum....at least not easily. I was thinking about posting this in the HaloCE "HEK General" forum but this is not really modding related but more related to finding a song I want to put in one of my HaloCE mods.

Bottom Line: Need Halo2 MainMenu Music....Where-to-download links would be nice. TY.
It's not so much the fact that he locked it but WHY. He or his friend responded like this:

You can extract it from the mainmenu.map yourself. You'll need the codecs used by the Xbox sound files though (ADCPM).
LOL I dont have Halo2!

First of all, this does not belong in the haloCE hek forum because this isnt modding related. Second of all, this does not belong in the HaloCE tags and resources forum because it is a request. Nor does it belong in the Technical forum because it isnt technical. And I refuse to spam through PM-ing and posting to find my answer. Anybody else have a post that they had locked that shouldnt have been locked?

lol

I fore-see Temp-ban in your future.

IF they locked it. they had a reason espically if it was locked by GTAF.

You trying to say that other moderators lock for no reason?
I try my hardest to not lock a topic. But when people don't bother to read what I put up for them, then I have to (Halo 2 discussion mostly)

Well I didn't do it :D

Then it's illegal. This topic belongs moreso in Complaints and Suggestions, and your original topic would have been fine in Halo 2 modding discussion.

Well, IMO. There are quite a few good halo2 modders. That being said, pick one out of the many and send a pm to, asking for the music. That's not spamming at all. If they refuse move on to another. It's perfectly fine, not bothering anyone, and also kept away from being posted in the wrong section...accidentally or however this happened. Easy way to go about it?

Thank you. I don't mind if my posts are locked as long as I am corrected properly before It gets locked. ^^ People can't just be punished if they don't even know if they did wrong. If that guy Game...blah...something said the same thing you just said I would have never gotten upset.

Sorry, but ignorance is not an excuse.

We lock shit when we see fit. When a Discussion takes a turn for the worse and turns into flaming adn/or spamming, when discussion has completely turned into a hatefest, (i.e. Mac v. PC threads,Fanboy fights, etc.) , if it breaks any of the clearly set rules, anything illegal (Xbox/360 Modding Ripping, XBL modding, Distribution of copyrighted content, Leaking parts of, or pieces of a upcoming mod/game,etc.) and of course, when there is no more intelligent discussion to be had, and at the original poster's request.

EDIT: Seriously, why didn't anyone move this to C&S? -___-

Words of the wise right there adolif, take his advice in the future, and there's no reason why you can't continue to respect modders here.

That being said, it's good you brought this topic up, and now hopefully you understand.

This question has been answered. You are responsible for knowing the rules. If you don't, that's your problem. Read the rules, follow them. That's it.

Locked.

And Cuda, shadow topics suck.

I shadow them so the original poster doesn't get even more pissed off that we "Deleted" his Thread. That way, no problems arise from "omg modz teh suck tehy lockd and deleted my threadz!! Bad Modz!"
