Possible Name Change?

Well I was wondering if I can change my username to Doom instead of Doom2. I looked at the current user account "doom" which has no post and was made about 2 years ago. It seems long inactive and I would like to have my normal user name. If it is possible can I get it changed to Doom though and not Doom2?
