Banned from files forums...

I am banned from the files forums for posting a simulation program that is a program that just runs on your desktop. It is not a hack or an aimbot. It was made by an SF member who has 0% tolerance for hacking on halo, as do I.

I want to know why I was banned and if so, I know it was a misunderstanding.

Seriously, do you find it funny to not read the stickies? There's only one, and it was right above this topic after you posted it.

Waverunner wrote:Welcome to Complaints and Suggestions!

If you would like to make a suggestion, or complain about something halomods-related, you have come to the right forum. In this forum you may make any suggestions for the forums, such as a new usergroup, a new forum, rules that may need updating, any spelling errors you notice in rules, etc. There are some basic rules you will need to stick by in order to make a successful suggestion however:

-Forming a proper Suggestion-

When you make a suggestion, it is important that you say two things for sure, and then say whatever else you need to say. The first thing you need to say is what the board, in your opinion, lacks. Then, state how you believe it could and should be fixed, and if you need opinions on your statement ask for that as well.

-Forming a proper Complaint-

A complaint is not a flame. When you complain about something, make sure you discuss it in a proper manner, and do not make anyone mad. If someone disagrees with you, you are going to have to agree to disagree

-Were you banned on the files forums?-

Don't panic, and don't post here! If you were banned from the files forums, it was for a reason and you will be unbanned whenever we tell you it will happen. If you would like to request being unbanned because you feel it was unfair, PM one of the Administrators or Junior Administrators. If they are unable to help you, they will find someone who can.

If you have any questions or concerns about these rules, feel free to PM me.

What you posted sure looked like autoaim to me, and everyone else who posted in the thread in question.

What it looks like to me is just a little program that helps you get a quicker finger and help you figure how far you should lead when shooting someone. Merely a simulation.

Okay, well it's not technically an autoaim, but it certainly helps you be a better player. These things you sometimes need to do without the aid of a program... Still considered cheating in my eyes.

not really.... astronauts use simulations to help train to be astronauts :P

But this is giving an unfair advantage over other players, therefore cheating.

Theres nothing saying other people cant use it, therefore not cheating =/

That makes no sense whatsoever. The same could be said for using autoaim on Xbox Live. If everyone uses autoaim, everybody has the same advantage, but they're all cheating still.

Well still... its not technically cheating in my book, just being smart. Nothing says you cant look at something and do some calculations in your head or make a program that does it that tells you how velocity and acceleration work in game physics, thats not cheating thats just being smart.

You could say the same thing for using an aimbot. Does that make it not cheating?

See, the funny thing is is that this isn't any autoaim or any program that is run while Halo is running. It is merely a program with a Halo background and moving circles for you to shoot at. It doesn't give you a leg up when playing Halo. It's basicly just a small little target practice game.

so in this case, why was he banned?

Posted: Sat Feb 25, 2006 7:30 pm

Because everyone assumed that it was an aimbot. No one actually took the time to look into it.

so shouldnt the ban be overturned?
