Prefixes....why?

Is somebody flaming or causing problems? Is there a post that is too large for content? Moderators will check here often to discover problems quickly.

Should prefixes be banned in the H2 downloads section?

Yes, they're annoying.

So we're all fine with the rule that as long as the topic clearly tells what is inside, we don't need a prefix?

I'll go run a couple confirmations with some admins then i'll implement that rule.

I think someone should write a little phpBB app to make you choose a tage, You would choose like [MOD] or [TUT] or [GFX] or [PIC] or [SOTW]....

I've seen similar things on other forums, such as the UT2004 Downloads forum. There was small images next to each thread with things like "Total Conversion" Or "Model" which was VERY helpful. I'm not sure if we want that here. I don't know.

IMO, the prefixes are just for organization. Serenity V2 could easily be a mod name but if I hadn't seen [APP] i wouldn't no if it was a stupid mod or a very useful tutorial.

on the other hand,

Seeing *Vid Up* or *Mimesis Published* or *7000 Downloads!!#!!$* is not necessary at all.

on my third hand,

Seeing some1's clan name or user name is not completely necessary in the title. Though, it doesnt seem to bother me and I have not heard of it bothering any1 else either.

Their useful, but I mean, why don't mods/admins just edit the posts instead of deleting it? Nearly every forum in existence has mods there that will edit posts if necessary. Why not here? It takes about a split second to click the "edit" button and type [mod] .

Does anyone ever feel like this?
