Request for more moderators or to bring back the Arbiters

Is somebody flaming or causing problems? Is there a post that is too large for content? Moderators will check here often to discover problems quickly.

Most of the mods on the User Forums don't go to the Files Forum, and vice-versa. Like BEEF!!! for example.

User forums suck alot anyway and you will never find 1337 people like myself there. Anyway i think there should be a rule you have one week to make a super 1337 mod or skin or you get banned from the site that way we wont have any noobs to bother us.

Forums around the world have always been bad. Deal with it, moderators are spending their time making it a nicer place. Just because stupid posts/threads arn't deleted instantly doesn't mean moderators arn't doing anything.

Must've been something really nice. ;) Too bad my all seeing eye was blind at the moment.

Anyways.

This community needs alot more active moderators.

I said in another thread, to ditch all moderators.

What I meant was, all inactive moderators. This has already happened( I think ). Just get the experienced and active members, that is, experienced when it comes to holding the peace.

Whatever is done, it is the choice of Grenadiac.

Hmm, that's the spirit..

I'll be on the lookout actually, I can give some help on tracking down the flamebaits and flamers. I'll look into it.

Yes, if you want something really done, PM a mod or admin, reported posts don't always get fixed immediately.

So what your saying is moderators read their PM's, but can't be bothered with reports?.. ;oP

It seems silly to PM a single moderator when you can report something and send the message to all moderators...Then if moderators took the time to actually leave a reason/explanation of what they thought of the report, and actions they took when they closed the report rather than just checking the box, there would be tracking on all reports, offenders, reporters, etc...So you could actually keep track of who's being a constant idiot, rather than only seeing issues here and there because other moderators are dealing with it...

I think getting arbiter system back would be fun, I really think it helped the users to have something to look forward to and something to work towards, plus guardians encourage helping people. Sometimes you have to dangle a carrot in front of a horse to get it moving

you're*

Iron Forge is actually right about that, if moderators can't be bothered with the report system, we should get Arbiter/Guardians back. I mean, why have the report system if moderators arn't going to use it?

I try to stay on top of reports, I always check them when I'm on. But, as I'm not in the moderator group, I only have three sections that I take care of, and most of the time, reports I see are about signatures. If a report is about the Mac forum, Tags and Resources forum, or Pictures forum, I try to get it done as fast as possible.

I disagree...People have emblems to work towards...There is an emblem that basically says "I'm a guardian type person", and has the added bonus of other emblems...Something a simple name change can't do...So not only do you know people are helpful, you know they're helpful skinners, or helpful modders, or helpful "something"...I've seen lots of guardians spewing things out of their <insert location of spewing> that they have no concept of, and are just giving out false information under the guise of knowing...Which is worse in my opinion than just not helping in the first place...

There are enough people with emblems now you can figure out what the majority of them are...Least, I have...Maybe I could put together a list of what I believe the major ones are, so people could go back to "working towards something"...

All that being said, if users are only doing things to get something in return, isn't that the kind of "mod for fame" people everyone hates these days?..I'd hate to have people helping just so they can get something out of it, rather than helping to help...

I think this was a huge issue with the old arbiter/guardian, and even moderator ranks...People only did things to get these ranks...And once they had them, they stopped doing anything, or only continued doing things so they could claim "well, so and so was promoted, I'm better than them, I deserve a promotion now" or "so and so was promoted from mod to JA, so now they're incapable of doing moderator things, I should be promoted from arbiter to mod"...

In my opinion, moderation is a job, not a hobby...You shouldn't accept the position lightly, and once accepted, you should actually make an effort to do it, not "clean things as you happen to read them in posts that look of interest to you"...As Aequitas said, Quality over Quantity...Moderators need to step up and actually look for issues rather than sitting back and waiting for problems to come to them...The report system was implimented to make this easier for them...Not to be ignored as just another post they don't want to read...

No and No. The forums would have serious problems if they did that.

Aaa yes.. The All Knowing Mysterious Emblems...

Not to Change the subject... But.. It Would Help what to work towards for an album

Also Which one... How Do I Know Which one Says such
I have also at times seen people pretty new to forums and modding with elbems...not proving anything ( to my knowledge at least)... but meh... the least you could say is which one means Leet skinner;)

..Now then Back on t3h subject at hand...
