oh, so just cuz their staff their opinions matter more than an average member, who irl is probably just as cool or smart or strong as you? most normal members posting in this topic are arguing to the contrary of what the staff are saying...shouldn't staff members accept some feedback from the average forum members?

rules change, you know slavery used to be allowed right? Thats the reason we take history classes in school, to learn from the past...one thing i've learned is that if you keep the same rules, laws, and exceptions that have existed for a long time, eventually things go to hell...imagine if slavery still existed today, rules sometimes need a change for the better

if other average members do not find it funny then that is all there is to it, but there are other's who will find it funny, at this point i don't care if you unlock it, just take my word on this...

That is where i posted it

i would like to add to my first post at this point by saying the only argument the thread has caused is caused by it getting locked

Yes, exactly. All I want to say is that topics like this should be left open, I don't want to stray into power abuse... :?

Read this before you really get in-trouble: http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=52533

Now what I was talking about was the THREAD about halo pictures, NOT the SECTION about halo pictures. you should have posted a REPLY in the THREAD about halo pictures NOT the SECTION.

Aside from your completely irrelevant comments at the end, your question is misleading. It is not locked based on an opinion about the content of the post or whatnot, it is locked based on a judgment about the direction of the topic, and yes, the staff does have more authority there, that is why they are staff. If staff members didn't have that authority, they wouldn't exist.
Iron_Forge wrote:The rules have been modified (and still are) to give staff the power of good judgment....
When you have several staff members agreeing about the action to be taken for the topic, that falls under them being given authority to make that judgment.

Sometimes. However, as I said, normal members are not staff members, and they do not get what they want just because they're normal members, that argument is flawed as well.

All irrelevant and not similar at all.

Good thing, because it's not getting unlocked. There are plenty of "average members" who don't find it funny. By your logic, we should lock the thread because some people don't find it funny. We should have it because some find it funny, so we should not have it because some don't. Your logic is broken.

You didn't grasp what he said and you took it out of context.

Nobody said it was locked because of an argument, so that comment has no importance.

Stop using ridiculous examples to illustrate your point. If I were a descendant of someone who suffered at the hands of slavery I would be so offended. You're comparing your locked thread on an internet forum to a cruel and horrible act, slavery.

Halomods is not a Country, State, Government, Political party or democratic organisation. It's a website and forum owned by one person. That person has set the rules for his forums. Decision making power is delegated to select individuals by the owner of the site. You agreed to the terms and conditions of the forums when you signed up. Nobody is making you stay here. People aren't suffering at the hands of the staff, this isn't somewhere you're kept against your wishes. It's a fucking forum.

I think this thread is done. It was about one topic, and the author says he no longer cares if that topic is unlocked. The issue he had brought up, he no longer wishes to defend. His message was posted, he got to say what he wanted to say, and this can end now, as it's only spiraling more out of control with each post. And, in the future, you have a much better chance of reasoning if you PM a staff member, not post in C&S, because posting here will always get other people involved, which will always make the situation more complicated, and will rarely ever help you. A PM will be more beneficial, and should always be your first action if you want to discuss an action taken by a specific staff member.
