Yes, FacePunch is quite strict. Just having [56K Warning] in your topic title will get you banned. (Or so I've been told.)CabooseJr wrote:Neither have I, but that is the thing, you do something wrong, your banned so fast.
Over-moderation, maybe?

Well, you have to think, that is a Garrys Mod forum, and people with garrys mod have steam, and people with steam is required to have a decent internet connection, and 56k is no decent.

Ok. That right there, the series of posts above me(including a few on the first page), is why threads get locked. It seems as though the entire Cafe Patrons for just one block of Replies, is stricken with severe ADHD. That is why GTAF locks them, because there is the Sporadic Off-topicness as you've shown right there. Over-Moderation, time to time, but when theres little bits like that time and time again, the topic at hand has been completely shifted so many times, people lose what the original topic was.
I can see the thing about the sig blah blah blah being off topic.
But seriously? I realize they aren't talking about GTAF or anything, but how in the hell are they not talking about over moderation? I mean, come on.
It's like if I made a topic "Here's a picture of my dog!" and someone posted their dog, then you guys would lock it because it's not about my dog anymore. And that's only a slight exaggeration!
I think you guys just love to moderate the shit out of halomods. Seriously, IT'S THE CAFE. Even if a topic ran completely off topic (or relatedly-offtopic, which is usually the case), why in the hell does it matter? It's not like it would be hurting anyone at all. I can see if someone posts completely off topic (like someone talking about Halo in a thread about my dog), but if the discussion naturally went that way, I see absolutely no reason why it should be locked other than "because it just should." It sure as hell would solve the problem of having 25% of every topic locked and 25% under a page.

REST IN PEACE, HMC
Yeah, but have you recently seen how many "post your..." threads there are? Seriously, it's first of all really annoying to see all of the "Post Your" threads, Second, When they're all started by the same person, that makes it look like they're spamming the board, Third, When they are within close proximity of one another, Even more annoying. to Put an End to it all, I suggest 1 more last sticky. a "Post Your Personal Likes and Dislikes" Thread. Sure it makes it look like a fucked up version of eharmony, but it makes the boards looks less cluttered.
I have no issue with people posting their Dog in a "Post a Picture of your Dog" thread, The Post has to be Relevant to the discussion at hand to a certain degree. First time it gets out of hand, a Clean up. second, (if the Staff member is Generous) another warning and cleanup. Third time, Locked, binned, and finished. However, i don't really support the "This topic has no further discussion" move. If the Topic in fact has no further discussion ,it'd sink and be completely forgotten until someone brings up a similar topic, and someone brings it back up again.
