Do you credit them every mod you release? I fully understand and agree with you on the ripping and what not, but none of us have asked permission to use their work...
I gave Bungie their credit when I paid $55.99 for the game. Start paying me and you can use my stuff without my permission.

What I claim is my own, not Bungie's.

tru dat; by modding and playing their game we are still giving them credit. BUT only if we do it in a responsible and positive way!

By RIPPING stuff from other members your disrespecting THAT member and hurting the COMMUNITY.

Also by being IGNORANT you are hurting the COMMUNITY.

HOWEVER >_> If you don't want your maps to be ripped from we could always use that SERENITY feature >_>

Sad that we would HAVE to do that though.

What we really need is just a... karma system. You are disliked your access to posting goes down. Same with downloading.

The report function would mke things easier, and my need for actual moderating may become redundant with there being a lot of good staff (I would argue though, that I'm trying to make things better and not just a rule enforcer, so I'd hopefully keep my position :P)........Not saying I'm a bad staff member though >_>

The enforcing rules section isn't posted in too often unfortunatley. Thankfully, there are some and its great that those people actually help staff find problems. However, one thing I do notice is that people generally decide to spam and flame the the person who ripped instead of telling staff who can easily dish out the justice juice and put an end to it all which is much more efficient than flaming. Plus, flaming can get YOU in trouble, just because he ripped it doesn't allow you to let your tongue loose.

So please be telling us staff or PMing us and we will deal with them accordingly.

To voice my own opinion though, I dislike rippers, I have gone through a fair share in my modding "career" (as in people have ripped from me) so I can easily understand your frustration. So please just PM me, telling me who the bastard is and they will be dealt with.

And Jackson, we know about the serenity feature. I speak for myself here, but I leave my mods unencrypted for the reason that I want other people to learn how to do what I did by looking and experimenting with it...Especially since thats how I learned a few things (ever wonder why I credit Mr Murder so much?). So by encrypting mods, we are in a way, holding back others but locking everyone out.
