how bout if you slip once, you're off the allow list, just make a new usergroup that everyone who applys for gets, but are removed if they make an annoying sig

As long as it's within reason. And any off site smileys would be considered against the rules I believe.

It's not going to happen. We've had way too many problems with this in the past. They're distracting, annoying, and differ you from the original intent of the poster. Even unanimated graphic sigs are somewhat like that to a lesser extent.

Well, I'm not for everybody choosing to do animated sigs, but if it is to happen one day, I suggest there is a stickied topic where people can post their animated sigs they make and "try out" for the honor of having it posted. It would need to be high quality (nothing distracting), within the size regulations, and approved by other members of this community.

That is the ONLY way I will support the return of the animated sigs (even though I love making them myself).

we could do like a huge graphics art contest like SoTW where the winner would get to basicaly have what ever he wanted as far as sigs go. Maybe even avatars.

Thats just another SotW styled thing and then dont forget since the winner gets so many advantages over others I think there'd be some kind of cheating to get it, ie get all your friends etc to vote for him just so he can have an epileptic signature...

Just a suggestion. Maybe, depending on the bandwidth space, you could try it.

Disable the IMG tags for the signature block, so only text is allowed in it. Then, if you want an image in your signature, be required to upload it to the site. So then it can reject any signatures over the size limits. Just an idea, I don't even know if it's possible or if it would work. Don't mind me.

I dont like the animated sig idea(subliminal advertising mb) We should have a sotw of the topic "sotw eblem', and the winner has his entry as the eblem for all the sotw winners.
