also kirk, is there any way to stop people from posting the xbox-scene link, that link in my opinion causes many problems
"Xbox scene"
"Xbox-scene"
You get the idea.
F***, that time I did double post, Kirk if you would be so kind as to merge these posts that would be great.

Yes, that is what people do currently, what he and I were saying is to not link to xbox-scene, so they do not get any answer as to how to mod their xbox period, because if they read the rules they would know they shouldnt post it anyways.Ombre wrote:Last time i checked though dident halomods want people to post a link to Xbox-scene so there wouldent be that kind of questions here?
I reject your reality and substitute my own.UnlockedTitan wrote:you cannot delete your own posts in this section

Yea i dont think they should really be redirected to xbox-scene but on the other hand i dont care as much as most of you since i dont even have XBLTural wrote:Yes, that is what people do currently, what he and I were saying is to not link to xbox-scene, so they do not get any answer as to how to mod their xbox period, because if they read the rules they would know they shouldnt post it anyways.Ombre wrote:Last time i checked though dident halomods want people to post a link to Xbox-scene so there wouldent be that kind of questions here?

Tural & Ketchup, I agree with you 100% of the way with this, back when I played on Live, being matched with a modder was really, really frustrating.
But, If Microsoft and/or Bungie cannot stop it, I don't think you and Ketchup can.
Disallowing the advertising of xbox-scene will also not help that much, as its so easy to find (google, yahoo etc).
Unfortunatley, as bungie say.. no matter how many counter-measures you use, there will still be some jerks who find a way around it. Its one of those things we're gonna have to learn to live with.

Obviously the rules arent stopping them, thats the problem, they dont care about rules.Snave wrote:I see no reason to block xbox-scene links, and the xbox live situation is mostly over and done with anyone who has modified content is automatically banned. The current rules that are in place are sufficient, no talk about xbox live cheating etc, we do not need to go after them and ban them.
Then they probelly wont care if they get bannedTural wrote:Obviously the rules arent stopping them, thats the problem, they dont care about rules.Snave wrote:I see no reason to block xbox-scene links, and the xbox live situation is mostly over and done with anyone who has modified content is automatically banned. well no one here seems to really look into this lol
Yes Bungies banning system works, but it takes time to be implemented a modder can be banned from any where on the spot to some time after but they will get banned also XBL modders are using 2 month accounts and setting up new ones which is what is getting round the ban hammer
blocking Xbox-Scene would do the normal modders and people who want to mod like us from learning also it would result in people asking questions here and being shutdown / sued by Microsoft
I think the system as it is standing here in Halomods is working fine, far better than it has been for a long time believe me the amount of xbl stuff has gone down alot, you should have seen it at its highet...
And I personally would like to say thanks to the staff for running a bang up job!

We aren't talking about XBL banning, that happens in due time. What we are talking about is the modding of user names AT Halomods.Zenon wrote:Yes Bungies banning system works, but it takes time to be implemented a modder can be banned from any where on the spot to some time after but they will get banned also XBL modders are using 2 month accounts and setting up new ones which is what is getting round the ban hammer
If someone is looking to mod on Live, Custom or not, they should be banned. That's what Tural and myself are preaching.
its easy to tell from pm's who wants to cheat...
same with some of the threads made...but still that doesnt stop anyone..
and then also getting rid of xboxscene is also fair stupid...without that link imagine the amount of times we will have to plagarise stuff from them and post it on this site when we cant be bothered asnwering their questions? we'd end iup explaining it anyway and then we'd have more and more "advanced new users section" threads like the one currently being talked about...
so i believe that xbox-scene thing is ruled out...
and the banning of users is pretty stupied too...its their decision to do it...we dont condone it neither does anyone else and theyll be punished by no more xbl. i reckon people who are smart enough to change their eeprom are smart enough to change their IP adress to re-register here...
i dont have xbl btw
