I guess I should have put "edit" instead of post. What I'm trying to say is how they would edit the person that reported something in there post and sign it off showing that they edited it and showing that they actually did what they are suppose to do as a staff member. I don't see why post count would have to do with it when that thread would just get the posts deleted a few days later on.
I still have no idea what you're talking about. It seems you're saying you never saw staff members address those reports, even though every single report got addressed via an edit, or more rarely, a reply.
Also, the posts didn't get deleted. They got put in the Recycle Bin. It still counts to your post count, they stay there forever, for record-keeping purposes.

I saw them address it, I was talking about that they addressed it via Edit, I knew that. There were just a few staff members who are active that didn't fix any reports at the time. I know you, GTAF, and a few other staff members who know who they are did fix those reports and I saw those staff edit the user who reported it, and added an address saying that they have fixed the reported post. So what I'm saying is even though the people that never did it were staff members, there not doing there job as staff.
I don't think I even have to say that I agree with Locke, however!
I do agree with Tural on this point right here:
One thing I disagree on is that moderators don't have to be nice. At least not all the time. When helping people (it seriously just hit me, Locke. I remember that now! Yeah, they don't do that anymore), they totally should be nice and helpful etc. However if they're just stating their opinion in a non-person-in-a-position-of-authority-way, they shouldn't have to censor themselves any more than any other members. If your whatever-it-is just plain sucks, the moderators should be able to say so. Granted, they used to also help encourage people to not suck, but it really is different. The moderators are really just users with super powers. I have no problem with them outside of how they do their job. How they converse on the forums outside of their powers shouldn't be controlled.
So they should be nice, but if they aren't: they just aren't and it shouldn't be an issue to whoever is in charge of them.
That being said, I think nearly all the moderators are jerks and a few of them suck at their jobs.
Man, looking back though, halomods has always had problems with moderators. Remember how they used to choose them? Now that was a crazy idea.

I 1000% agree. I used to be a "Gaurdian" (me and Edwin were the bomb back then), but after a while you just get bored of it.Tural wrote:First of all, those of us who don't participate as actively as we did in the past didn't stop because we became staff, and moderating didn't take its place. I know that I, for one, gradually stopped because I was losing interest, everything was becoming the same.
Yeah, except not everyone in staff is in the same situation as you.Being staff boosts activity in areas of interest, it doesn't diminish it.

I'm with you all the way, Tru. I won't name any names, either, but all the time, I see moderators that have no regard for anyone else, and think they're better than everyone just because they have special power and 5 letters below their name that say 'Staff'. We do, however, have our share of fair Staff members that are very friendly people and easy to get along with (I also won't name any names here, I don't want to make anyone feel left out and get pissed off.)
Any other feelings that I wanted to post today as I daydreamed at uni were practically summed up by everyone else. So with that I can't really add too much else other than to say sorry Locke for the whole swearing part and any other wrong doings that I have done without really noticing. There is really no justification at all for it, I knew I shouldn't have yet I did, I was slightly agitated at the time...But as I said, that doesn't really justify what I did.
I will be trying a lot harder to follow that "code", not because I have to and that you told me to, but because it makes sense to and I want to. I also don't want to be that bad role model or appear less in other people's eyes because of it.

I try to be nice and help out when I can, but I'm afraid the only thing I can really do now-in-days is try to help in the graphics section. I'm not the best staff member, I don't hit refresh on the reports every five minutes, but I do what I can. Yea, I can be a jerk sometimes, but I never tell people to go die and stop whatever it is they are doing. Just try to remember; the staff members are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts (I hope at least,) we don't get paid, and many of us don't even mod or play mods now. In fact I don't even play Halo anymore.

I'd like to know what was posted in the staff section if that was what the thread was leading to. I mean. I think the community deserves to see how the issue is being handled.
Secondly, I agree, if you take away the members that are jackasses and the moderators that don't moderate you've got a gaping hole.
Damnit, I don't want to switch to source.... I really don't.
*waits for cryengine2*

It leads to an old thread "Everyone must read this, it is required." Wanna know who made it? Aztec.metkillerjoe wrote:I'd like to know what was posted in the staff section if that was what the thread was leading to. I mean. I think the community deserves to see how the issue is being handled.
If you don't get that, then you don't need to be complaining about the "old days".

OK, thanks. I just wanted to know, if it inconveniences the old members I'm terrible sorry. I guess my being a year old member has no bearing on this.GametagAeonFlux wrote:It leads to an old thread "Everyone must read this, it is required." Wanna know who made it?
