Tutorials

Post by smokey »

I think the tutorials forum should be more like files.halomods.com...

This one there are many tutorials that really arent worthy of being in there (jetpack mod, ect.). I like the whole tutorial submission thing ALOT more because only the really good tuts got moved. Tuts should also be closed. Please consider this staff :D.

I am really having a hard time trying to understand what you're saying.
tutorials.halomods.com?...

Also, I quite like the current setup. This way more people will get interaction from tutorial creators.
Unless there is a large movement to move things back to the way they were, it's going to stay like this.

he means that only the good tuts should go to tutorials, and remove users rights to post in tutorials...

it does make since to me, your so post to post in "tutorial submissions" and if they are good they will be moved to tutorials. But, you can post a topic in tutorials. and that kind of defeats the purpus

Yeah, I kinda agree with you, I think the "Tutorial Submissions" Forum should come back.

Ketchup Bomb, if you like the current setup setup alot too, you could just have the same thing, but in the tutorial submissions forum. I mean there are tuts like "make a flamethrower" or "make projectiles fall from the sky" in there. True, some new modders may need that, but when they bump those tutorials, and there are so many like those tutorials, its a little annoying. I REALLY liked the files.halomods.com setup because you could easily fins quality tutorials in the blink of an eye. Also, in that setup, the tutorial submissions forum had the more easy tutorials for the beginners to find easier too.

I also believe that a tutorial submission should be brought back. It should weed out useless/outdated tutorials from getting into the tutorials section, as well it could very well improve the overall quality of tutorial because I know that I would put forth the extra ounce of effort needed to make a tutorial sparkle if it got me into the "good tutorials" section. lol. But I don't believe tutorials should ever get locked. If someone needs help they should be able to get it by posting in the post where the tutorial is-not some other place where the creator isn't likely to look.
Also I realize that this may just have been a laziness decision on the part of the staff because they didn't feel like having to judge which posts are worthy of getting moved and which should stay in submissions...

Anyways thats just my two cents!

Oh but it IS ridicules some of the stuff thats in there...
