H3 Equipment Fail?

This article has a question that I would like answered...

http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx ... &cid=13330

Q: Currently, only a handful of the pieces of Equipment are in use in matchmaking, namely the bubble shield, regenerator, trip mine and energy drain. Are there any plans to incorporate other items, or to change the mix at all for variety? Items such as the stationary turret could add some new tactics to MP. I'd personally love to see the flare added back in, as well as heavier availability of the radar jammer, especially in CTF and Assault gametypes.

A: Again, a new hire we have planned should be able to react faster than we can at the moment. He

There was a way you could you use them to get an extra jump.

For instance, even if you're in the air, if you jumped at a precise moment after the equipment was thrown, you would jump as though you were on the ground.

Or something like that.

They took them out becuase of that?
Why not just take out the brute shot now too...

Well, that may not be the reason they removed them, but it was still an exploit that players could utilize, but no longer can if I'm correct.

Yes.
It's not the same situation at all.

Tural. I just think its ridiculous that they took them out because they gave you an extra jump. You can jump on your teammate's head to get the result.

But that's not abuse of the physics.

I'll assume here that this exploit can't be fixed by Bungie.. That being said, it would be nice to have more variety in the equipment for use, as I find myself almost never using any.

I thank you for giving me insight on what the problem was. I appreciate it.

Yeas all I have to say is bungie dropped the ball had for future updates:

they could have had Armour, new Equipment, new Forge elements, tonnes of shit but they said, no--we need to rush this game out so M$ is happy and pets our heads <_>

Besides that being completely off-topic, it is also an incredibly ignorant statement. The game wasn't "rushed" to "make Microsoft happy," or at all, really. Take your undying Halo 3 hatred elsewhere, you're just cluttering the thread with garbage after the topic has been settled.

Faceplam.
Please read the thread before continuing a discussion which has already ended. You just restated what we've already said.

At least he has a video.

It is a pity that only a small handful of their rather impressive and fun equipment doesn't make it into matchmaking...I make my own varients for friends which utilise a much larger range (ie not just bubble shiled regenerator and powerdrain)

It really is a bummer that other equipment can't be used in matchmaking now...It does take away from the game but what can you do? Oh well, Tural if you would like, go ahead and lock this topic since my question has been answered...thoroughly now lol.

Tural STFU. Alright well don't STFU but serisouly you annoy me; I realize that the comment was not thread worthy but its just annoys me to see what could have been done to the game and wasn;t done.

You can split this or whatever it is you do but I had a question;

What would the consequences of a CON resigner be, short term as well as long term? Wouldn't they be able to tell if the content was modified?

Expect to see hundreds of custom gamerpics, abuse of the game saves, abuse of achievements, piracy of content you normally have to pay for, etc. The biggest issues are rampant piracy and abuse of achievements, as it stands right now. Being single-handedly responsible for the theft of thousands of dollars worth of downloads isn't something most people would want to deal with. I can imagine a lawsuit being brought against him if he published something allowing that.
