Bungie Humpdays
Well, I was reading the Bungie Humpday for this week, which is here:
http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx ... &cid=13348
And I started wondering whether HaloMods had ever challenged Bungie to one. Though, I could understand Bungie's reluctance to play HaloMods, seeing as they aren't particularly fond of people modding their game.
I'm not sure, maybe one has to be challenged by Bungie to play them, rather than challenging them. I'd just think it'd be pretty cool if we could have a humpday against them sometime.

I'm exaggerating, but it has been mentioned quite a bit. Everyone has high hopes, but it always falls apart long before a challenge is made, mostly because the people who offer to play are unreliable. To be perfectly honest, if you wanted to do it, you'd have to take the respected, reliable members of the community. You would have to tell some people they can't play because of who they are.
Bungie chooses their opponents based on community activity. I'd say we have a fairly active base, but getting them to take the modding site, especially now with the mods being leaked, may be difficult. You could always point out that we don't permit the mods here, but they do on their site. That could either work, or make you look arrogant. It would be a chance you'd have to take. >_>

If this isn't a completely hypothetical discussion, I'd recommend seeing if they'd actually organize a game with us before we started deciding on members.
If anyone really is up for this, and would be able to create a message to them that has organized and nice grammer/language, and is also of a high status(Mythic member, anyone?), then I wouldn't be adverse to someone requesting a match.

As that may seem like a good idea, it would be very very unfortunate for the people who may not be as skilled as the others. I'm sure there are many members here that would love to play with Bungie, but may not have the mad skillz to win a tournament just to play with them. Which would suck and shouldn't count them out. Just because a person is good at the game doesn't mean they deserve to play with Bungie anymore than anyone else here.Supermodder911 wrote:I say we have sorta of a tournament if we ever do make a challenge or get an invite.

Does it not? I'd feel like accepting a request from someone well - respected than from someone who isn't. Of course, if you contact them through something else...Tural wrote:Bungie.net forum member status has no importance here.

Yayz!
Just curious... if this has been suggested a few times as you said, why have we waited 'till its been suggested this time to actually do something about it? Of course, I wouldn't actually know if anybody's tried before.
And I agree with kibito, we'd have to find some "standard" that users have to reach for them to be considered to play against Bungie. I understand about letting say, lower skill players play, but I wouldn't want anyone coming out of the blue, who's never posted before, asking if they can join.

The request will not be done through the forum, and we can do one better than someone just respected on their site.Aumaan Anubis wrote:Does it not? I'd feel like accepting a request from someone well - respected than from someone who isn't. Of course, if you contact them through something else...
This time we have a realistic chance to actually succeed. Previously, we did not. A unique set of events has happened that gives us a shot.Aumaan Anubis wrote:Just curious... if this has been suggested a few times as you said, why have we waited 'till its been suggested this time to actually do something about it?
I don't know how democratic this selection process may be.Aumaan Anubis wrote:And I agree with kibito, we'd have to find some "standard" that users have to reach for them to be considered to play against Bungie.
