I'm sure I can get some people to help you.
I've almost beaten the entire campaign on Legendary by myself.
Although, I cannot right now as I'm about to help detox with one of his maps or play matchmaking.
So, I'll PM you when I can help.

I sent him an FR so we could do it, but he isn't accepting it.

Instead of taking it slow but surely, I found that speed running it proved the most effective way of doing it...

I always died with the flamethrower. Plus, it definitley goes against my speed-run policy :P

Lawl That's the greatest technique ever. Mine is the shoot of their arms so they have no weapons, then just let them follow you.
I have a screenshot somewhere, of like 50+ flood running at me.

Brute shot works wonders, the melee with it is the same as a sword, and the brute shot rounds knock off the wall clinging bastards.

I found the assault rifle to be the best thing for the flood, except the hunter-like flood :/
Melee generally kills in one hit (I never knew why melee in Halo 1 and 2 never did any serious damage, here in Halo 3 you could practically beat the level with no ammunition, which made the meta-game for flood levels extremely easy :P) and the normal fire of the assault rifle owns infection forms like a hot knife through butter, and does some pretty good damage on all the other forms as well. Melee is the best though.

Personally I think the shotgun is almost worthless now for flood. The only difference it makes is that it's slightly better for ranged, but the sword is a LOT better. Though like I said, I don't even use that anymore, except for the hunter-like flood... From what I have learned, the grav hammer + assault rifle combo is frickin awesome. The assault rifle works just as good as the shotgun in close range and the grav hammer is godly against massive amounts of flood. Range isn't a big biggy, just stay out of the way of the ranged form of that one type that changes until the rest are dead, or just run by all of them and get to the next checkpoint :P

i carried a sword and shotgun. not hard to fine but best combo for that lvl for me.

i keep shotgun out. run past everything and shot the one that get's too close. e sword is for the juggernaut. beat it very quickly. note: avoid combat with elite floods. and always take out bruteshots! also keep a bubble shield if you can find one. very useful at the generator part. invisibility is very usful too.

Play with 3 peeps.. And just have one be a spawn point so you can just run in kill 5 of them and die then respawn and do it again. Should take you 30 mins-1 hour.

aaaah, cortana on legendary, what fond memories I have.....
i'm never playing it again. NEVER.
yeah, my strat was use my bro as a spawn point, kill as many as I can, die, respawn. Took forever. But I won!!!!

I'd say flamethrower is the WORST weapon against the flood-you light them on fire, and they run at you, meele you, then kill you when the fire on them touches you :P

what sucks is that the shotgun is useless against elite forms-their sheild holds out for 2-3 shots, so its easier to stick em, or dual plasma. That works well, but I never find any rifles :(
Good luck, I HIGHLY recommend using a buddy as a spawn point, especially in the first big attack(near the crashed pelican)

I don't see what was so hard about the elite flood.. They weren't all that difficult, almost the same as the regular flood.

They have overshields, but that doesn't change much. Flood levels are incredibly easy. Anyone can beat any flood level with all skulls turned on including legendary difficulty. All you have to do is turn on the skull that gives you health when you hit people when bash your way through the map.
