An Idea

Ok, so I have an idea for a program, but I can't do it because I don't have that level of programming knowledge.

Anyways, my idea would be the solution to the people who don't have their gamertags linked to their live account or for people who can't link their gamertags to their live account at all [like myself]. The idea is essentially a program that would let you [via computer] browse around peoples profiles on Bnet and use the "Download to 360" feature as you would normally.

But I honestly have no idea if it could even work, lol...any input? Or ideas for those of us who don't/can't link their gamertags?

Why is it that you can't?

When i registered for XBL, I didn't have a Live account, so I used my current email [as of BACK then] which had an @bellsouth.net extension. And I got rid of my older computer, and that account is gone now as well. Also, my account believes that this @bellsouth.net email is my live account, so it doesn't have a real password being it no longer exists and isn't a live account anyways. So there Is no way i can link it to my "live profile" because it no longer exists. this also means I can't recover my gamer tag because of this. And yes I have tried every password that I have ever possibly used since the creation of that @bellsouth.net email.

Isn't there a way to change your email and password?

Nope, the gamertag is strictly associated with the registering email. atleast that's what I read about it on Bnet. But I can change the password through the 360, but since it doesn't exactly have one, or a different one [possibly] I can't change it

If you can't link your gamertag, there is no way to utilize the Download to Halo 3 feature. It goes through the Windows Live ID system, and you aren't going to be able to force account credentials and make it take a specific gamertag.

Your only true solution would be to make a new gamertag.

I'm not sure if this is true since I heard from one of my buddies, but If you call up Xbox Live (You can find the # at xbox.com) I'm sure they can change that information.
If it works out write back, so I can do the same. :P

A bit off topic, but I don't feel the need to start a new thread. How do I link my Gamertag to my Bunige.net account? So that I could get a Linktacular.

This happened to a friend of mine, but to make things worse he didnt know his password. So in halo 3 he couldnt even view saved films because of parental settings. If I were you, I'd let it go and keep my gamertag, but thats just because Id hate to redo everything on my profile.

And I dont know if they can change that. Ive asked to change my parents email and Ive asked them to change my age and they wouldnt.

Your gamertag is very likely linked. You just need to turn on the display.

Well, thanks for the cruel but honest truth. I'll see what I can do [I don't think the parents would be happy with paying for XBL again].

Have you tried calling Xbox Live support to see if they can do anything? :\

Ah, thank you very much, Tural.
