Well, I recently got into a game with LiL Poison and his dad in Team Slayer.
Link to Game : [

My GamerTag is XiL Destruction
Both of them added me to their friends lists.
So, that brought up some curiosity. Who here at halomods have played with pros? If you have, which ones?
Hope to see many replies!

I fail to find any reason why they should garner any more respect than anyone else. "Professional gamers" are just players as any other. Who cares?

So? Who cares who you are matched with. A gamer is a gamer, nothing more than that.

They make money, they have sponsors, etc.

How are they any different than professional basketball players or professional baseball players, etc?

Srsly, I don't even like Sports and I have much more respect for an athlete then someone who presses buttons on a controller- unless they are flying an airplane.

So? Again, who cares? They do, and other people who claim to be "pro" do. That's it. Outside of that ring, their title has no importance. It impacts nothing.
They just are. It is just different. There isn't an explanation, that's just the way it is. Get over trying to downplay the unimportance by reasoning it out. There isn't reason. It just is.

Yeah for some reason 'pro gamers' don't really float my boat, though I admit my boat has leaks.
I can't see them getting the same amount of respect a basketball player deserves. I'm place pro gaming under the 'bar' sports like darts and stuff since it doesn't really require any kind of physical condition. It's an athletes physical condition that deserves respect.
Look at cycling, that is one of the most exhausting sports out there. And I love it.

It's just, I don't know.. Like many players (After the whole MLG thing) go around claiming they can own you and calling you BK (bad kid..) and random, like they want to be all good, because they think they are all good and stuff, (aahh so hard to explain) I mean I know the pro gamers are good, it's just they act like they are a WHOLE 500 steps ahead of you. Idk to hard to explain.
it's like A Pro Basketball player or something, would be much harder to do, or to get to.
This doesn't really make to much sense..
But I have played with Shockwave.

Ow I thought BK was 'burger king'...
I remember playing against the ogre twines once, they were betraying the whole time (they were on the other team)...
Next game they were on my team and said: if you don't give me the rocket I'm gonna betray you guys...well he got his rocket and all was well I guess.
And yes it is rather funny when little boys start yelling at you if you're beating them. Especially when they want to go all 1 on 1.
Truly lollable.

im not going to try and find the game because it was almost two years ag on a different live account
Edit: you are saying they are no better than any other pro or not
professional means they do it for a living so they are no better just they waste more time playing video games

Are you American? If so, your English sucks. If not, I understand what you are saying.
Either way, I think this is ridiculous how many people laugh at their occupation. Should I change the thread to "Have you played with a Bungie Employee?"

We're not permitted opinions on their "occupation"?

I think that professional gaming is a good profession. The time and practice they have to put into it is outrageous. I mean not all of them play all the time any more, but I bet if you added up the hours they've played you would be amazed at their dedication and work they've put in. Most professional gamers are a lot of steps ahead, but they're just little steps that when you add them up create a big gap. Keep in mind I wrestle, which is also one of the most exhausting sports there is, and I still respect professional gamers, why should professional athletes get respect and not gamers, they all have put in lots of time, and most of them had talent to begin with.

Because that's not the way our culture is. We see video games as just video games. They aren't a sport, and they won't be taken seriously as a profession. In a perfect world, yes, we'd see their dedication. However, this isn't a perfect world, and everything isn't objective. That's just the way it is.

Because an 11 year old can't become a professional athlete.
