or should I?

I think they're just doing like in Halo 2, where you could slide on some surfaces and jump a little longer or higher.Yamagushi wrote:I dont get it, from what i see there using some glitch to jump higher/farther. Cheap tricks just like bxr and **** in halo 2, far too many ppl see this **** as ok. Its cheating. Play with skill not cheap tricks.

Yeah, I see no difference between this and anything you can do in H2. It's just taking advantage of all the little ledges and slopes to get the most out of a jump. Of course, some of the ways they use it in the vid is cool, but to me the general concept does not seem that special.GametagAeonFlux wrote:I think they're just doing like in Halo 2, where you could slide on some surfaces and jump a little longer or higher.
The implementing of basic physical laws is extremely cheap! Damn you momentum, damn you!Yamagushi wrote:I dont get it, from what i see there using some glitch to jump higher/farther. Bunny hopping? That's in tons of games, it was in Half-Life as well if I remember correctly. It's (strafe jumping, very similar) also become somewhat of an art in Quake games.Kirk wrote:Sounds like the same thing that is apparent in Source games (except in HL2 you can just keep jumping on a floor and you begin to travel at speeds normally not even reached with sprinting...
Well, I must have not played many of those games (haven't played quake a lot) but the main thing I was talking about was the bunny hopping on the sloped surfaces in Counter Strike (where it's not like Half-Life where you can do it on a flat surface). Or, I just didn't bother to do it. Whatever, all I can say is that I don't see how this is new :/

Or maybe, instead of leveling up in matchmaking, they play around to see what they can do for fun.xlRainlx wrote:Wow they actually found all these tricks themselves? They must have no life. xD
Of course, I'm assuming you play matchmaking to level up. But if you don't, what do you play it for?

i used to be in jumptacular a looong time ago, most of them were really nice guys. i still play with a few on occasion. we all started after Mr. Jukes put out his first video. this may not seem like something new but i guarantee they come up with new stuff exclusive to H3 that will change the way a lot of people play. most of their videos are more useful than watching any montage.

well i dont have a 360 yet lol, but when i play mm on halo 3 I play mostly for the challenge and not the level. I guess you could be right and that they spend their time in custom games, or they have no life. >.>shadowkhas wrote:Or maybe, instead of leveling up in matchmaking, they play around to see what they can do for fun.xlRainlx wrote:Wow they actually found all these tricks themselves? I still don't see your point. You playing, for frankly any reason, shows that you have as much a "life" as people who discover these things do. You play the game for a challenge, they play it for discovering fun things. Does discovering things mean you spend 8 hours on the game at once? Probably not.xlRainlx wrote:well i dont have a 360 yet lol, but when i play mm on halo 3 I play mostly for the challenge and not the level. I know. But I am saying that if they actually spend 12 hours a day looking for jumps then they must have no life outside of Halo 3. I'm not saying they do, I'm saying it's possible.shadowkhas wrote:I still don't see your point.
