ok so heres the general idea...

i was contemplating
and i wonder if a program could be written to have every computer on a central router put out a false ping so that people would be able to sys link on xbc

can it be done?!?!?

That doesn't even make sense.

you mean make every computer of a network act as a playing sever with static IP's. Ypu dont even need a computer you just need to know what the IP of you xbox is and have every one connect to the IP.

Again, that also makes no sense. It helps to have some networking knowledge before you try to present an idea.

like what tural said. you make no sense. but can't you just connect you're xbox to another xbox directly?

They're trying to talk about playing over XBC or Xlink, but they don't understand how it works, or what ping is.

Uhh i think the word your looking for is Network Tunneling or something. And i dont know if halo 3 blocks it or not so im not sure really, and Ping is networking progressing and how fast people connect to you or others

Who are you talking to? In addition, I suggest you read the other thread about this before you jump in and willingly admit that you don't know what the issue is. This isn't about tunneling or what ping is, I was pointing out their inability to grasp technical concepts, it wasn't an open invitation to define such things. Had I wished to educate them on the matter, and had I felt it would have helped them, I would have done so. I purposefully did not explain it because I know that in doing so, nothing would be accomplished, because they still wouldn't be able to come up with a feasible solution.

So its either get XBL or bust. There will be something in the future so dont worry im sure theres a work around...

That's not what this thread is about. I just told you there was another thread devoted to the issue you're discussing.

i kinda get what hes saying but ud have to completly reprogram XBC and even then i dont think its possible....

What i think he means is have it report a false ping of below 30ms to the xbox. I dont know much about how pings work exactly so i couldnt tell ya if its possible.

I have an idea, GET OF OF 56K, that fixes alot of problems.

Ping = Lower the better

it doesn't matter. giving out a false ping so you can play is like watching a picture of a fp view cuz if your ping(real one) is to large it just freezes the game....that's why they have the ping prevention on xbc or it would be like halo pc which lags like hell if you go in the wrong server!

I dont think you have any idea how incredibly low a 30ms ping is... I have a 10mbps connection and I usually get around 60-80ms...

The ignorance in this post is overwhelming. If you don't have anything logical and coherent to contribute, don't post. You don't have the slightest idea what this thread is about, yet you come in here with your dominating arrogance.

I'm locking this topic on the grounds that it is completely incorrect, and it's clear that nobody knows what they're babbling about.
