Which game do you guys think have better graphics? My personal opinion is Halo 3. The lighting was all around better which helped show the graphics off more and they weren't overdone.

Gears of war did give me the feeling that the graphics were more realistic than life.. Which sounds wierd and I know not true but things were a little to sharp...

Halo 3 looks great, as did gears of war though.. So I don't really have a favorite.

halo 3 graphix are smooth but GoW has better lighting

Can't compare them, different art styles, etc.

Anyways... haven't played any lol.

One can hardly do this comparison in one post...so many factors to consider...But to put it in a small post without much comparing at all: I prefer large vivid vistas than dark dull alleys regardless of how detailed said alleys are.


But at the same time, I am on a similar side to Tural, because I see so many reviewers, and users from other sites do the same comparison, going oooon and oooon and it hardly even makes sense to me why it keeps happening...Ahh well, I'll cool myself down by playing the game and shooting people (yes people...they said finish the fight, the easier fight would be killing humanity )

Gears of War... had too much bloom, and not colorful at all. Sure, I don't expect it to be happy rainbowland colorful, but there should be more colors than brown, green-brown, sky-brown, and black-brown.

dont forget yellow! That was a controversial colour to be put in the game...Epic thought it was straying too much from their style...But eventually they put the bright yellow in the game


I saw the vgcats comic ages ago...BUt still is quite hilarious as its such a truthful message...

Not to mention red. Which reminds me, the floor blood in Gears is probably the worst excuse of an effect I've seen in any game this generation.

Yeah that's a very true comic.

Tiny bits of bloom are okay, but some people just take it way too far.

That's how war is. Dirt, stone, sand, grass... not much color in an urban wasteland, unless you're in the market, maybe.

I'll go with Gears of War. They spent more time on it...
The lighting is dramatic, the 'lack of colors' adds to the realism of the game. Overall, the feel is better.

GoW has better graphics, but I like Halo 3's appearance better to be honest.

the two games cant really be compared unless your looking at level of detail and even then its sketchy...

The point: they are 2 completely different works of art. Different pieces from different creators exhibit different styles. To say "Gears" is graphically better than "Halo 3" is as absurd as saying "Starry Night" is graphically better than "Guernica."

Allow both creators to have their own style.

Ok well let me ask you this. Which game do you think has a better style of graphics?

Agreed. Also, it's my favorite because nowhere else on Earth do you see a dude hitting a horse in the face with a candle.
