I want that crate gun =P
I dunno yet if I wanna shell out that much money for a game and a replica helmet. I'll see how much cash I have laying around.

That first paragraph about the profile doesn't really make any sense.

I'm certainly wanting to buy it, and preordered it a while back. My only concern is that they said it will be $30 more than estimated. Estimated was $100, which I paid. I'm hoping this doesn't lead to my preorder being canceled...

Can't we just have a "Bungie Weekly Updates" thread?
But I'm in the process of checking it out...
That helmet actually looks surprisinly awesome...Much more awesome in comparison to the real life Halo 2 spartan guys that promoted football games and the such... I will wait to see what it all contains in detail before deciding to preorder that thing

Good news from Best Buy:
Derek,
I am Sherry with Best Buy Customer Care.
I understand your concern about the price change for the Halo 3
Legendary Edition preorder.
One great benefit for those who pre-order an item on BestBuy.com, if
the price is higher at the time of shipment , we will honor the price
that you originally paid for. We will be sending you email
notifications in case there would be changes on your order.
New news, check it out.

These text updates are really lame...I want at least one picture. Halo 2 had full videos (albeit shaky cam) ~a year before it was released.
All we've seen are some disappointing alpha shots and the trailer...which differed about 99% in terms of graphics.

I don't really want to see any screen shots or trailers. I just want to be surprised by Halo 3.

[quote="Frankie"]The M12 is primarily used in a scouting capacity, or as an integral part of a mechanized infantry unit. In the case of the LRV and LAAV variants it can hold three soldiers including the gunner. The mounted weapon includes a battery for short term operation separated from the vehicle, but normally operates on the vehicle

...
No.
The LRV is the "Light Recon Vehicle", if my memory serves me correctly, this is a warthog with no turret. LAAV is "Light Anti Aircraft Vehicle", which is the Warthog plus a turret. The section about a separate battery would be when the turret is being used and the Warthog is off. It's kind of hard to drive and use the turret at the same time. The turret of the warthog has never been removable, what makes you think that it will change this time around? Now, even as strong as the MC is, I find it quite doubtful that he could hold that thing in an upright position, or be able to control the muzzle rise. That gun is just plain unwieldly for use outside of the 'Hog.

i thought maybe that the UNSC has discovered a new material to make it liftable i wasnt thinking to walk around with a chaingun and mowing everything down in your path i was saying maybe mount it somewhere else as a turret and also Frankie mentions more than one different hogs being currently used by unsc

Thank you. I was unsure about both, but my point remains the same.

We already have portable turrets that can be hefted over the shoulder. See: Level one from Halo 2. Those different Warthogs were supposed to be in Halo 2, but were scrapped.
Here are old pictures of the Warthogs.
