According to this Xbox-scene article, halo 3 beta sign ups will begin Dec. 4th. I'm disappointed that apparently it will be selective and not something you can just download from the market place.

Do you even know what you're talking about?

Halo3.com will be launched sometime around Dec 4th, at which point they will allow sign-ups for the Halo 3 Beta. There will be other ways to sign-up at later dates if you don't get registered on Dec 4th.

You also don't know what you're talking about.
November 30, 2006 - Updated 2:40 P.M. 11/30/06 - Microsoft has since clarified that the Halo 3 multiplayer beta will be more open than originally believed.

The quest to enter the Halo 3 public beta begins next Monday. The previously announced Halo 3 Beta will, in fact, be available to every eager Xbox 360 gamer when it launches in spring 2007. In a press release teasing the December 4 Halo 3 trailer, Microsoft revealed that gamers will "register for the opportunity to be one of the select members" of the public beta. There will be other ways to enter the beta, which will be revealed soon. In essence, if you want to play the Halo 3 beta (and who doesn't), you will have multiple opportunities.

On December 4, the millions of hopefuls in North America and Europe can go to halo3.com to sign up for the beta. You thought the Internet hit a crawl as consumers tried frantically to purchase a PS3? This could be worse. If you don't get it, again, don't fret. There will be other ways to get in on the beta, which we'll learn about before the spring '07 launch.
People will register on Dec 4th to play the multiplayer beta.

Got it now?

There is no registration for a full game beta or whatever you're rambling about.

HALO 3 BETA SPRINGS UP. SEASON SEES OTHER SURPRISES.

Microsoft is giving Halo fans everywhere an early glimpse at Halo 3 when it opens up a public beta for the multiplayer mode over xbox live this spring. Also whetting the wsistle was a commerical for Halo 3 shown during a MNF game on ESPN. The company also announced that it will release new multiplayer maps for Halo 2 this spring. Unlike previous maps however these will only be available via download on xbox live and they will only play on a 360.
