You are right, but either way, this is all speculation until Tuesday. I'm sure a lot of people would be glad for the third map to be Lockout, but I don't want to get my hopes up only to get them crushed by another Foundry-like map with millions of re-makes following it's release.

The magazine is most likely the April issue, which is what he is referring to. He's not saying the official information may be fake, he's saying that image of the magazine cover may be a fake concept art for AFD, made by the magazine editors, not Bungie.

Anyway, I think it would be cooler if they had the Halo ring in it. According to the people that made the map, the fictional setting is on an under-construction Halo. I don't recall seeing the Halo ring in any of the maps (in either Halo 2 or 3), partially because they don't all occur on a Halo installation, but this is an iconic thing from Halo 1 and if they were truly trying to "remake" Sidewinder, it'd be a cool thing to have in there.

Also, I'm fairly certain there are ice patches now, after seeing the overhead shot of the map. Cool. All in all it's looking a little better now, but it just doesn't seem to be all it could be.

Just because the cover is fake doesn't mean the remake can't be Lockout.

Not necessarily.
It just means that the map has:
1.) A better name
and
2.) The lift tower doesn't look so horrible.

It's going to be Lockout...it's got to be.

I was sort of under the impression that map wasn't going to be completely snow-based.

Edit: Oh, and I had a storyline thought for Avalanche. I think from the sounds of it that it's a power station for several parts of Halo, but mainly Narrows. My imagination places the icy canyon below Narrows, and it's what is powering the Bridge above. Hence the electricity flowing under Narrows. Just a thought. :p

just throwing out there a few of my friends who always play halo have been mentioning a mid-ship remake. which would also be "small" and have interconnected platforms. just putting the idea into the discussion that it isn't out of the question and I hope they don't release 2 snowy maps in one pack. And i assume it is a very requested map and would work perfectly in a certain new playlist. (mlg)
