Nevermind, it was stupid and even if it did work it would make no difference, just feed people who believe the games are connected.

I don't know the difference between the military calendar used in Halo and the Gregorian? calendar we use currently. If Marathon used the Gregorian? the events could lead to one another, but they don't and there are too many other discrepencies.

So, yeah, nevermind.

ya thats one thing i had thought of though, halo does use military, Marathon is civilian isn't it so what would be the exact difference from 2552 to 2972 or w/e i know its closed to that i'll just go back to wiki then edit this but what would that difference be? i know the UESC ship Marathon left Mars and it took it 300 years to arrive where it is. because then they didn't have slipspace drives so when the Marathon ship is in orbit around the planet it had only been there for a little while right. and the MC's story part is like 200 years before that if there using the same calender. hmm this is confusing i think the only way for both those games to match up is to have something else occur in between them.

as for all the stuff about Onyx its fair to say that Ghosts of Onyx ended at if not right before the end of halo 3 correct?

Please Bungie, don't make an immediate sequel.

I hope they do another Halo game, yeah, but have it tell the Master Chief's story through some other storytelling device...like, for instance, a Marine reminiscing about Master Chief, and saying how he crashed somewhere, and this and this happened, etc, etc. So that you never actually play as Chief or anyone else we know of in the Halo universe, but you hear the story, like a folk tale.

There is no confirmation stating that Halo is a prequel to anything.

in marathon durandal one of the terminals says something about you wearing a MJOLNIR MK 4 so i think theyre two different storylines that are very similar because in halo 3 you wear a mark 6 and i dont think the chief downgraded while in a cryogenic state

the mark 4 has references from the books aka the spartan I's the mc is a spartan II but who says bungie has to follow exactly how they made marathon.

i know what hes talking about at the end of the legendary scene it shows a big blue light behing the planet the question is why is he talking about it?

apparently he thinks the blue ring of light is a halo, which it isn't its just a ring of light around the planet.

I think it has to do with the ghosts of onyx, don't get me wrong, but the planet was undergoing a lot before Dr. Halsey and stuff got put into that little ball that their in, And right before the planet turns into a metal looking planet it looks as if it has land, watch the video again on legendary. Plus it would make sense because Halsey and the rest are stuck were they are for the time being, could a fourth game be about the rescue of them? Someone posted that Halo 3 would end around the same time. Hmm a Hard thing to say, ghosts of onyx continues off when Halsey leaves the rest of the Spartans in "first strike" with Kelly, at the time Chief helps Admiral Whitecomb destroy that huge fleet and then continue onto Halo 2's story line to help earth. So I don't think they will be around the same time because when Halsey reaches onyx its already being activated and at that time chief would probably be still in Halo 2's story line, though Halo 3's story line was short, but the ghost of onyx story line was short too once Halsey was there. Maybe chief is floating towards the onyx planet? Maybe not? Its still to hard to give it anything a direct answer. If anything, If it does do with Ghosts of Onyx then I will be happy being the story of Ghosts of Onyx was awesome.

idk we don't have a specific time for the ghosts of onyx do we? i mean i don't remember one when i read it. we know halo 3 is in the year 2552 and ends in the same year so the real question is, does ghosts end on that year also or later? i thought that while the Ghosts of Onyx was going on halo 3 was going on at the same time but thats just my guess.

The last events take place on November 4th, 2552, which has already been posted in this thread, and is right on the chapter page in the book.

Between the dates and timeline given. And the tag name of the planet from the cutscene im 90% sure that the planet in the last cutscene is onyx before its crust is broken off by the warheads.
