Even if I did have ESPN or whatever that is, I'd watch the 720p version on the Marketplace. Also, there may be reasons for it, but the Halo Wars CGI looks like a billion times better then that shown in the picture, the warthog looks crap IMO.

Also, saw this on Xbox.com, any idea what weapon he's holding?

Bungie released a discussion about the Mongoose vehicle set to feature in Halo 3.

What do you think? Like how it looks? Any ideas that could've made it better? (serious ideas only)

I like it, but I'm not sure if it'll keep the gameplay balance as good =/

Tells us the Spartan Laser has a 3 second warm-up and there are both visual and audio aids to let you know it's "locking on" to you.

That 3 second warm-up sounds like it'll make it have some good balance. So I wonder if after those 3 seconds it hits instantly, or has to travel like a rocket (albeit much faster).

Mongoose looks cool in my opinion, I think it's going to serve its purpose quite well.

I want it. It'll be fair. In halo 2, it was really easy to get stuck in a hog being followed by a ghost until you die. (Presuming you had no gunner) The mongoose would make it easier to fight back. Plus they're so dang sexy.

I would say it's instant from the 3 seconds. Or possibly when you release the trigger... it would be very hard to hit a mongoose if it auto-fired after then 3 seconds. It shouldn't travel like the rocket...

My reasoning behind this is that it's supposed to be a LASER, so it should travel at the speed of light, theoretically.

You both raise good points, I always hate it when your in a hog and a ghost comes after you when you're alone, makes me think soe counter-measures could have helped.

Considering a laser is traveling at the speed of light, I think it'll be instantaneous.

I think what he meant by that was whether you release the trigger to make it fire (like a rocket), or whether it fires automatically after 3 seconds.

It should be fun to play with and I'm sure it;ll have physics like the halo 1 warthog whilst the warthog will have similar physics to its halo 2 counterpart (Even though it sucked).

One thing that may suck is CTF...While it'll be great for Mr. Offensive; rushing in and grabbing the flag and rushing off again, what will it be like for Mr. Defensive? If its hard for a rocket to hit it and the best weapon is a spartan laser, it'd be easy for the mongoosee to jump off and grab it to restrict the other team from getting it (Kind of, thankfully thats being changed in halo 3).

Shooting out tires would be a humerous and slightly more balanced thing (But more than one bullet to the tire would make it better) so it causes them to flip.

It would be a nice addition to make it able to shoot out someone's tires and give them a flat tire, but only after a couple of shots(for a weaker weapon).

It could be nice, But it could be bad.

One thing that I'd like is for the ManCannon to be able to shoot you farther and faster than what the Mongoose can.
That way, if they take your flag, just hop into a tube, and KABOOM!

I'm loving the mongoose. I always thought the hog went around 45-55 mph and having the mongoose going at 60 just seems to slow though.
