Looks like you could delete the teleporters in forge, this can make some pretty massive changes in gameplay.... SWEET! :P

[quote="Yamagushi"]Map #3 will be a remake as well. And by the looks of what ive been reading I too believe it to be lockout.

From Xbox.com:
???
The third map to be included in the Legendary Pack has yet to be announced, but stay tuned for full details on another returning classic

More screens this Friday.

SketchFactor wrote:Luke is going to post more screens and hopefully another overhead map in the update on Friday. That should answer a lot of the lingering questions here.

There are rocket launchers on either side, and they are located on cliffs.

There is a rather gigantic man cannon on said cliff. And yesterday I saw a clip someone made of themselves grabbing the rockets, launching in the man cannon, shooting a flying Hornet at point black range in mid-air and then falling to the ground amidst a sea of debris. Good stuff.
[edit] Eh, Ok.... Luke Smith just replied back

Possibly Battle Creek remake?(I hope it isn't, I always hated it.)
...I'm like, 99% sure it's Chill Out. I absolutely loved Damnation and Chill Out...hopefully they just remake whatever map it is, instead of "reimagining" it.

EDIT: The more I think about it though, the less I think it's Chill Out. Lockout fits the description and all...but I'm not sure if they would do that, what with Guardian and all.

I realize, but the description fits Lockout better than any other map (at least that I can think of...).
It is described as having a series of interconnected platforms.
- Lockout was a bunch of interconnected platforms.
It's chilly
- Snow, ice, etc.
isolated
- "Some believe this remote facility was once used to study the Flood. But few clues remain amidst the snow and ice."
and has a gentle glow. It's a relatively small map littered with fusion cores and ''will be loved by almost everyone'' and ''will be universally adored''.
- I dunno about the glow (I guess it kinda did, and there was that one green room :P), but Lockout was most definitely littered with fusion cores, and pretty much everyone loved it/would want it back if given the chance.

Guardian does not equal Lockout. Oh, and fuck Lockout, I hated that map.

How does it not? I realize it's not the exact structure that Lockout is. However, it's basically the same, and has the same basic theme to it. And being that, Bungie has no reason to make a map that is similar to what Guardian is.

Either way, it wouldn't make sense to do a Lockout remake. I wasn't using remake/= in the context that would be implying they used the same map layout for the level (while it does have similarities), more like it's the same theme/style.

By typing something as bland as 'ummm ok', all you achieve is posting something completely worthless. If you don't have anything useful to add to the discussion, don't post at all.

Well for what it's worth... Avalanche is MUCH more similar to the original Sidewinder than Guardian-Lockout or Valhalla-Gulch. Neither of those two were actually intended to be true successors to earlier maps though we referred them as "spiritual" successors just in their general style of play.

Avalanche is a true re-imagining of Sidewinder but with a few changes made to better accommodate Halo 3 gameplay. The overall layout and general play is going to feel very familiar. And despite what the guys said, I personally have still found myself involved in many a late night stalemates on epic CTF matches. :)

I am guessing that as far as "straight ports" are concerned, it's generally an issue of two things - one, Halo gameplay has evolved and changed slightly over the years and "perfect ports" don't always play the way they used to within the context of Halo 3. Secondly, I have to imagine our artists are not keen to settle for simply a cut/paste job. They are a lot more ambitious and hardcore than that.
That puts me to rest.

I wasn't aware of all those other details for Moonlight Sonata.. I guess it does seem a bit more likely for it to be Lockout. However, there's nothing saying it can't be a remake (or spiritual remake, whatever floats your boat) of an older map with a new scheme to it...

In other words, Chiron TL34 in a cold climate. :D I mean, technically you could consider each room a new platform, the teleporters being the connection. :P It also means that these interconnected platforms don't necessarily have to be connected by a solid object. Bungie could go mancannon crazy again, never know.. (I seriously would detest a island map scheme though)

EDIT: Oh, and if it wasn't posted previously,

Did you not read the link I posted kirk? It described the similarities and had pictures and a much more detailed description than what GTAF had for the remakes to be lockout and sidewinder.
