All you have to do is turn on the skull that gives you health when you hit people when bash your way through the map.
Yea, only problem is those Fuckers that shoot needles at ya.

except when they take 5 shotguns to the face (point blank) and still manage to whack me 25 ft back.
and this happened on NORMAL :o

Am I playing the same game...

EDIT: I just beat cortana on legendary again and saved the film, if anyone wants it, ask me or something. Although I don't know how worthwhile it'd be to see it, I restarted a couple times because it was getting too long (there were a couple parts I just failed on for some reason that were close enough to the start of the game so it was just simple enough to restart). I didn't know when you restarted the game it still is included in the same film file, so you get a thing that's 1 hour 16 minutes long instead of the 38 minutes it took me to beat it.

Even so, I don't know how helpful it would be. I just felt like playing it again since I wanted to confirm the rumors that elite flood are actually difficult to beat. All in all, I died a LOT, many of them noobish deaths. But it is someone going through the level on legendary :/

In conclusion I have determined the shotgun to be the worst gun ever for the flood in this game. It really is. It didn't do any real damage to any of the flood I attacked with it, and the 5 shots to the face is NOT a exaggeration. It was easier just to use the assault rifle + melee or the energy sword (I used those two the entire game, mostly)

haha, someone agrees!
I used plasma a lot, it also works like the AR
actually, the shotgun is fine on easier difficulties, as long as they aren't shooting at you. XP

i did it yesterday by myself in about an hour, and heres a couple tips:

-make sure you get checkpoints, when you get past a big battle, or its says "loading... done" look to make sure you got the checkpoint because sometimes you can miss them, walk around a bit to make sure you arent missing one, because it sucks to have to do any part of that mission more than you have to

-the best way to defeat the flood, in my opinion, is to turn on the cowbell skull and use a brute shot, there are a fair amout of flood using them, so you can get ammo, the melee is excellent, and with cowbell, three shots will easily kill the annoying flood that cling to walls and shoot at you

That's not a helpful strategy, and is the opposite of what this thread is seeking. Your words of faux wisdom fall on deaf ears.
