I hope not. I was kind of pissed off (not really pissed off, just a bit disappointed) when I found out about this cuz i aint got my sexbox. But when I found out (I was expecting this anyways) that in all the Infection games the zombies get shields (lame) and the maps are pretty shitty.
Have fun playing this everyone and happy halloween.

Lag: you are american, nuff saidTural wrote:Nobody's making you play it. I don't think it matters how long it's available for.northy wrote:the games are lagtastic, the gametypes are n00btacular and the whole system in general is glitchtastic.... bungies version of infection are just annoying unless your host, im glad its only available for 27 hours
Edit time, I was at school, now I have time to properly respond.
Lag: Never had even a glimpse of lag in the games I played. Also, to claim that the gametypes or playlist is lagging is just incorrect. That doesn't even make sense. On top of that, it has everything to do with player connections, not the game. So yeah, not really a valid reason to dislike the playlist.
Noobish: Your opinion, one which many people, myself included, don't agree with, but you're free to state it.
Glitchy: Explain how. There are no glitches I have ever seen that are a result of, or only in, this playlist.
Infection in general: Because clearly the fan-made, non-official, honor-rules gametype was so much better. Everyone always played correctly and all in Halo 2. You say it's annoying without host. That is a game/networking problem, not a gametype problem, which you say it is.
27 hours: So don't play it. What harm is done from having it there, honestly? OH NO! ANOTHER OPTION ON MY MENU! It doesn't matter. For instance, I hate Multi Team. How do I avoid the problem? I just don't play freaking Multi Team. Is it that hard of a problem to solve? What does the time frame have to do with anything. Bungie isn't disabling all other playlists. Go play them and stop whining about a gametype you don't have to play.
n00bish: shotguns vs swords... do you feel skillful?
glitchy: there is a whole thread on bungie.net with bungie staff apologizing for all the issues with games being laggy beyond even being able to press the veto button and impossible to join in partys greater than 1 person.
27 hours: so dont play it? problem is, everyone else is playing it. Jump on any real playlist and no one else is there cos they are all playing infection.

Lag: How is it the gametypes fault then?
Noobish: I wasn't arguing with your opinion.
Glitchy: That falls under lag, not glitchy. The only thing glitchy I can find about it is the party matching system being slow. Again, I've never encountered problems you described.
27 hours: And if they kept it longer, activity would decrease over time. Therefore, your playlists would repopulate with people who like to play them. Keeping it longer wouldn't be a significant issue. If anything, having it for less time increases activity, because people want to play it before it's gone.

...There's 18,000 people in Team Slayer right now. I think that's enough for you to find a game pretty quickly.northy wrote:27 hours: so dont play it? problem is, everyone else is playing it. Jump on any real playlist and no one else is there cos they are all playing infection.

EDIT: There's less in Living Dead, infact, than there is in Team Slayer at the moment.
So, let me get this straight... The game type is bad because of lag, and the lag is because of a certain nationality, but the reason being American effects lag, is because of shotguns vs. swords? Ahhh I see now, it all totally makes sense!... WTF ARE YOU SMOKING?! >_>
My only complaint is the people that camp in the tube on high ground (club dead?) and on the catwalk on zombzibar. But that has little to do with the game type and more to do with the players. Oh yeah, and the party problem...

I hear ya...Although I never got to play the playlist...If you're lagging or versus Americans, the lunge+melee and shotgun blast has its lag, albeit less horrid than Halo2.northy wrote:once again, i bring up the shotguns vs swords issue. Which makes every encounter as predictable as flipping a coin. The other weapons are better balanced for lag.Tural wrote:Lag: How is it the gametypes fault then?
The very worst camping I saw was someone hiding under the stairs in Charnel Pit.Tanasoo wrote:My only complaint is the people that camp in the tube on high ground (club dead?) and on the catwalk on zombzibar. Random fact: I ran into a handful of Colonels, a Brigadier, and a General while playing this.
The General's rank was so shiny and... nice. =o

I found out that I don't really like Infection. As always with live the problem comes down to social life. When you play with a group of poeple who are say in your clan or you know then you ALWAYS have fun, even if your losing. When you play by your self everything gets worse. Also the network problems for people with relatively "normal" connection (I'm going off of mine here: 5meg down/512kb up) can just ruin the experience. Frankly I refuse to get close to people while playing because the melee for me is so fucked up.
All in all though the Infection playlist was fairly good: I thought that the invisible hammer wielding zombies games were not very good though.
Side note: Halo 2 XBC Zombies pwns Bungie's attempt. Half the fun was obeying the rules... What I'm getting at is if you played by the rules and didn't cheat at all (No... superbouncing to the top of foundation pillars doesn't count while playing with friends... especially when they all do it too >_<) you get a much bigger rush out of winning/playing. Also nothing compares to the frantic nature of Foundation zombies...
I'll give it to Bungie though, I was happy that I could get my achievements for playing this. Mainly the step'n razor, which seems impossible unless boosting... (At least on the map I'm thinking of)
