What are these "network things" that people do? Causing the imminent victor to lag out, for instance?
I wonder if Bungie will continue to refine the level system to minimize legitimate cheap exploitation as well.
Why do people circumvent a mechanism for matching skill levels? Why do people cheat at all? What is the point of winning by means other than skill? Or faking your way into a game with players who are out of your league? Call me logical, but I just don't get it.
The Banhammer is on its way.

Ranks are a measure of how cool you are, just like post counts.CaptainPoopface wrote:Why do people circumvent a mechanism for matching skill levels? Why do people cheat at all? If I ever make a sig with quotes in it, that will be in itTural wrote:Ranks are a measure of how cool you are, just like post counts.
Cheaters honestly don't bother me THAT much. "lol wut?" I will probably be quite annoyed and yell at the TV a bit, but when it comes down to it: Once the match is over, I can just negative rep them and never play with them again. The fact is, it IS just a game. You win some and you loose some, that's just how it is. However, these cheaters seem to take the game a little too seriously. In their eyes, they have to win the game at all costs, event if that includes "hurting" other players. Now, if I was to stomp my feet, hold my breath and do everything in my power to see they they are put to justice for making my loose a game then in a sense, I would be just like them. I may not be actually cheating, but I would be putting all of this angst into, what? A lost game? Big deal, neg rep, and you will never see them again... It is even better if you can actually beat them, it makes the victory all that much sweeter . I suppose some people put more importance on leader board positions than I do (could be because I have no hope in the world of reaching high positions =x) but if being at the top makes them feel so dang special, let them be there, they can feel oh, so great at the top knowing that they cheated to get there. Obviously, this is the POV from someone that hasn't the slightest dream of ever reaching the top. So, I guess real thing is about the people that have the skill, or devotion (or both) to legitimately get there, only to have it swooped away by some cheater. I can see why that would cause people to get angry at them. But again, not so much me. I just play the game when I'm bored and want to have some fun. I can either ignore that last game where I lost by the hand of a cheater and enjoy the next, or I could get all ticked off and see to it that they are punished, but getting all mad would defeat the purpose of having fun, so why do it?
...wow, that was drawn out. I suppose that is what happens when you are bored and your 360 is fried so no halo ;_; Like the energiser bunny, I keep typing... and typing... and typing........
I guess the bottom line is that bungie is cracking down ad they are about to get what they deserve, so, yay! =D
As for the children: Most of the time, they are annoying. Thus, I praise bungie endlessly for making it so easy to mute fools. On the other hand, sometimes they can be entertaining: You will hear them jabbering and voice spamming in their high little voices, followed by an expletively rich flame of sed alto-ness, followed by laughter from all of the other people, followed by wither followed by either silence form the kid, or a steady stream of expletively rich defiance, that I suppose, makes them think they are sounding more mature. In the case of the latter, the mute is applied thoroughly, and the mach is about to begin (yay).
And sometimes you will be running about, only to hear their constant, high pitched, verbal output over the proximity chat. It's quite handy.

I hate cheaters. They fucking ruin the game. I would come home tired from a stressful day at school hoping to have some fun time on Halo 2 and bam! I get owned by a fucking modder! Thats what always pissed me off the most in H2. I sure hope H3 cheaters get banned right away with their IPs completely banned. I know it's just a game, but it's the only thing I got to do when my friends arent around, besides this is what I will remember years from now, how much I enjoyed the best game of my young life.
