Brutes
Could they compensate the larger size with more health?Tural wrote:Brutes in multiplayer would be the most horrible thing ever brought to Halo. Hands down.
(But I agree, adding brutes would give multiplayer game play way to many variables. Unless there was a game type the made you be brutes for a specific scenario.)
Thanks for the sig Xiion

That's what I said.CptnNsan0 wrote:or resize them to correspond with the spartans and elites.
Here's one reason they should have been playable.
In Halo 2 the main enemy was the Covenent and Brutes were introduced.
The Elites that were in Halo 1 had upgraded armor and became playable in multiplayer.
In Halo 3 the Brutes were given upgraded armor too.
Why not make them playable like they did with the Elites.
Why don't you try resizing them. I don't think they look "wrong" when resized. They look fine in-game without resizing anyways because they naturally hunch over.GametagAeonFlux wrote:Because Elites and Spartans are closely related already in terms of size/proportion. If you resized Brutes to be the size of an Elite or Spartan, they'd look...wrong.

Resizing doesn't just mean uniformly scaling them down to one half their regular size.HellaWack wrote:Why don't you try resizing them. I don't think they look "wrong" when resized. Go to the link I posted and compare the Brute's thigh to the Chief's...torso. You would have to remove a lot of their muscle/fat for them to be even considered remotely balanced.

You're quite stubborn sir hella wack...Its been brought up a lot of times why it wouldn't work...And to add to GTAF's thing about why Elites are, not only are they the same in size, but ability too...But thats a given
Plus the way that they've setup brutes for Halo 3 would be stupid to have them in multiplayer, not only are they large, but the whole way they fight and get hit are different...Sure they have shields, but they are very weak, they take ages to recharge, and its their body/armour that takes the most damage...
So for it to work in multiplayer, they'd have to change the permutations to make it not so revealing and unfair, resize the brutes so they are of a simlar size to mister MC, and have to change the whole mechanic on how they work...Now the whole reason why you'd want to play them in MP is to have their similar kickass brute functioning and mentality to SP (well at least thats the way I think...and you better think that way too or else ), but you can't even have that because it would have to be totally different.

Couple of things, kpumpkin?
1. Resizing the brute to fit in multiplayer just wouldn't work (see all other posts)
2. Brutes move MUCH slower than the rest of the characters. That would have to be adjusted and it would just look unnatural.
3. Bungie would have had to make a whole bunch of unnecessary changes to make things more balanced then.
Bottom line;
NO.

On that note, I've never even seen a Brute's shields recharge. I shot a Chieftain (gold armor dude) with a Fuel Rod, then come back to it after kill about 4-5 other Brutes, and it died from one Battle Rifle shot to the head. He still had all his armor on after that too...but I've seen cases where normal Brutes get their armor knocked off...I can understand their shields not recharging from that.ScottyGEE wrote:Plus the way that they've setup brutes for Halo 3 would be stupid to have them in multiplayer, not only are they large, but the whole way they fight and get hit are different...Sure they have shields, but they are very weak, they take ages to recharge, and its their body/armour that takes the most damage...
