Need Some Help

Hey guys i need some help.i have a capture card called win tv i dont think its very good but anyway if a wanna record me say playing halo 3 i have to play it on my pc screen witch is smaller then my tv by alot. i have to take the lead out of my tv for my xbox and put on on my computer or something. so i have to play on my pc screen. how can a capture put still play on my tv. hopes this makes sense. ps if you can find me a better capture card thats not really expensive that would be great thanks.

Your TV should have outputs for video and audio, which you would need to get double male-ended AV cables to utilize with your capture card.

Are you trying to play on your monitor? If that is the case, get a VGA cable for your Xbox, or a monitor that has a component/composite input.

Modern monitors can be just as high res as a high def TV. They may be smaller in size, but higher resolution.

Are you trying to have a feed going to your computer AND to your TV?
If that is the case, you could try doing what Tural said. Hook a male-male from your TV Video out, to your computer. If your TV doesnt have video out, you could try getting a "Y" Cable or a splitter. Some capture devices have an output of the same input for this very reason, check yours.

no im trying to capture me playing halo 3. but while im capturing i want the picture to still be on my tv not on my pc

ow ok thanks where can i get the of these things lol. also how long would it be my tv is about 3-4 meters away from my pc ?

Probably can get them at any radio shack or like store. You could also probably find them at the electronic sections of larger stores, or maybe even at game stores. Don't know about that last one though, as i've never been in any sort of Gamestop or anything like it.

If your TV doesn't have outputs (Mine doesn't) then you can buy a splitter. It's also called an A/V Distribution Amplifier. It basically is a box with 1 input and 4 outputs. You plug your xbox into the input side. Then, you plug in one of your sets of A/V cables into one of the output sections and then into your capture card. You then take the other set of A/V cables and plug them into any of the last 3 outputs and then into your TV.

You will now have video and audio on your TV and your Computer.

Just get an AB switch. Outputs to TV, and PC. Thats what I do.

First thing is first, check if your TV has V-out.

If it does, I know bestbuy has a variety of cables in a variety of lengths.

If your TV is 3-4m away from your PC, then get a 4-5m cable, you don't want it to tightrope across the room.

If your TV doesnt have V-out, the you will need some sort of splitting device, and you will still need the long cable. So go to bestbuy or circut city (maybe radioshack) and ask them for video splitters. If they don't know what you are talking about, just explain what you are trying to do.
