Laser Trick

Post by eido »

I figured out a neat little trick today in the forge:
pickup the spartan laser, start charging it up, and switch into edit mode right before it shoots. You can release the right trigger for now, but, when youre ready, holding down the right trigger switch back to player mode and.... the laser shoots right away if you timed it right.

Its not too useful, but a fun trick to play on unsuspecting friends :D

(i figured it was simple enough that you don't need a video to figure it out)

Fairly old concept. When you switch to editor mode, it retains anything occurring to your player. If you switch after going off the man cannon, when you switch back, you fly forward. Same goes for falling, as well as weapons.

oh, sorry for the repeat information, its weird that with the laser trick, if you dont hold down the trigger when you switch back, nothing happens, is there a reason for that? (that you know of)

Well, it retains the charge count information, but it can't fake a trigger pull. You have to actually press the trigger to fire the weapon.

I enjoy letting my friends stick me, flying around as Spark, and switching back when I'm next to them. Neat concept.

Is forge really that screwed up? From what I see if a guy sees a rocket coming all he has to do is switch into edit mode until it explodes...

Kirk, Forge is designed to be a constructive game. It's not meant to be an all-out gametype where there's killing and whatnot. Who honestly cares if you can dodge a rocket? It will give you time to go to the menu and boot the jackass shooting at you when you're trying to do something. =x

Good finding it yourself however this is fairly old knowledge but to trip your trigger I will have you know you can do more stuff like this with hammers, swords, and even stick yourself and turn yourself into a bomb.

Haha, I didn't know any of this about Forge. I'll have to try this Spartan Laser thing out next time I get my hands on Halo 3. :D
