Thats controversial, The beta face all shared the same model under the permutation. Unless proven by bungie the interpertation is up to you. I am also positive the face is stored in SP MC tags however single player was never freely available in the beta thus had to be distributed through multiplayer. Let your interpretation be what it is but you cannot turn to another person and factually say that "this is NOT john" as there is no proof there is or isn't.
Well, there were two MKVI Helmets without a face in them. And the face was in the other permutations that master chief has never put on. So it is allot more likely that it is not that that it is.

And that would be one Ugly girl... =\

Shadow, by your logic, you are saying that every Spartan in multiplayer, including other permutations, are Master Chief. You say that the face could be him, yet it is in multiplayer. You are then saying that multiplayer Spartans are John. I can understand your argument that it may be him in the standard permutation, but they put the face on every permutation. That completely breaks any argument that it is his face. The logic you're using to reason that it is him doesn't make any sense.

fritz, no public tools are or were available that extracted assets. Even before the rule, there really wasn't a tool that did so available to many people. A few select people/groups could get models, and we didn't even have a program to unswizzle bitmaps until a while after the asset rule was put in place, let alone have an app for it. Most of it was done outside of tools, and with scripts for Paintshop (As the person who's credited with the start of the work only made them that way, and didn't have a method to do it in a program).

As far as I can tell there is no face inside any of the hemlets that I've seen. Besides, they already said that the Chief was supposed to represent you :-)

@Tural: Ok, I'm only asking because I saw someone post a render that they claimed to have done using halo 3 assets. I know what the tools for halo 3 are a good ways away from asset extraction and I've been trying to figure out how they got the assets. (It seems to be legit.)

There were tools for the beta. They were probably using beta tools, to get beta assets to make the renders. That's what I did :o

There were tools. They weren't public, however.
