Whats up with cortana and gravemind?! SPOILER WARNING

i noticed a few things, like gravemind says MC is the son of his enemy, Cortana goes on and on about crap shes hiding, the end of halo 2 there talking as if theve been aquinted, cortana mentions shes just an image of her "mother" and thats just off the top of my head, im proally gonna go thru it when i do the meta points and copy down everything they say. Theres some wierd stuff going on between those two that they never went into.

The "son of my enemy" thing he says is about the Forerunners. Humans are the "sons" of the Forerunners.

The Thief thing I think is referring to Cortana still having the index from the first Halo.

Not sure on the mother thing though.

Like V0Lt4Ge said...Humans are "sons" of Forerunners, and Cortana hides the Index from Gravemind. Cortana being an "image" of her mother refers to her being a smart AI, copied from Dr. Halsey (read the books, it makes much sense).

Cortana has found out a lot about Gravemind, and Gravemind has corrupted parts of her, combined with the near-rampancy state induced from all the knowledge from the Halos. Most of what she is saying before you get to her is Gravemind's thoughts ("I'm a collection of stolen thoughts and memories" - That's what the flood does) and old memories and records ("Would you sacrifice me to complete your mission?" - MC was asked that when he got the AI in Fall of Reach, and "Hello. Nice to meet you. Do you want to play a game?" was from a recording of Dr. Halsey talking to MC when he was in kindergarten when she was interviewing all the spartan candidates).

I remember in the book that cortana was an image of Dr. Halsey when he was watching master cheif play king of the hill when he was in kindergarten. I even remember the quarter Dr. Halsey shows John saying that it was really important back then
