vahalalala is a map similar in spirit to BG/Coag, not a successor, same goes for high ground, I'm fairly confident that there will be a true successor to coag and zanzi and lockout and midship.

As for the porting of turf they could make it into some alien sewer system. This could happen because we all know that elongation is nothing like the original (insert forgotten name here). And same goes for the porting or warlock/wizard, wizard was a big hunk of metal, warlock is a stone masonry thing. The bungie guys are creative, they can take a map and turn it into a map that plays the same but looks totally different, they did it with wizard, they can do it with every other map in the disc too.

On a side note, anyone ever notice how halo 1 multi player maps from bungie are really bland visually? Like warlock and hang 'em high didn't have that many materials, and all of them were just metal.

I think they'll defiantly put BG/Coag back in, and hopefully Lockout (or something similar).

Elongation was in likeness of Longest. Warlock is Wizard sans some walls and a space/metal theme.

Wasn't it said by Bungie that Hangemhigh wasn't coming back? Bad move on their part, that map was my only favorite indoor map in both Halo games.

Lockout is just plain boring. I hope they nuke it and never bring it into another Halo game. Same with Wizard/Warlock, Gemini, Elongation/Longest, and Coag. Yes, Coagulation. (what does coag even mean?)

Technically, Lockout is an outdoor map.

If you are going into technicalities, Warlock is an outdoor map too, but they are so small it doesn't make much difference. Another map I would like to see brought back, at least in likeness, is Containment.

I'll elaborate a bit on my previous post...Gemini (thanks Voltage) is really fun, and it'd be interesting to see if anything happened to High Charity after H2 and during H3.
I also really like Terminal, but because New Mombasa is LOLBAI, that wouldn't happen.

I actually don't know if there will be a Gemini or Midship in Halo 3 instead it seems like this might take the place.

Edited URL, the period was messing it up.

I think that's an interior part of that snowy map (this map). If you look out the doorway you can see snow, and part of the forerunner structure. But I'm confused, since it's all Covenant style inside. It could be the inside of a Covenant ship or base though.

Edit-I just noticed, the structure looks like a Covenant structure (I mean from the outside).

That is correct. The screenshot from StalkingGrunt's post is from the same map as the one from your post.
