If you look at the picture of snowbound the red MC that is jumping his Shotgun has a light on it!
This is cool it will be good for dark corridors or something

EDIT:Maybe the X button turns on the light

The X button is not for a light. 1up said they were doing good enough that they didn't need to use the X button. If you were losing, how would turning on a light help at all?

Based on that quote, that means they were winning so they didn't need a light. The opposite would be needing a light when you're losing.
