Swap Projectiles in Halo 2 Vista
OK First download H2KM00.exe from somewhere. Then quit almost everything unessary, because that may keep it from open'ing files. (MSN, ect.)
1. Open up your weapon that came with the editor, it can be found in "tags\objects\weapons", Also create a new tag for a weapon
2. A monkey could do this part, just copy everything from the pre-existing tag to the new tag.
3. Make sure you click on the drop down's to make sure you get everything copied. I must have missed something...(see later pics)
4. I just copied the zoom from the battle_rifle.weapon tag
5. This is where it gets tricky, make sure you go back and select the trigger after you create it or its going to be a dud. Also make sure you still are coping everything.
You can select any sound that you want for this. I am using a premade one.
6. Save it where the magnum.weapon tag is, Im not sure if you need to but I do that to reduce the chance of failing ingame.
7. After saving create a new item_collection and then link like so.
8. Load up sapian with whatever map you want. I have a map that I test all of my mods on, other than The Clearing.
*looks familiar don't it?*
9. Goto Equipment and place 1 marker (I made 2 custom weapons so thats why I have 2)
10. Package the level and wait for tool to either, 1. Go through and not fail, 2. Poop on you
11. Load the map in Halo 2 Vista

Or you can just make copies of all the tags you want to change, rename them to what you want them to be named, then change the fields that you want to change\delete. Removes about 90% of those screens.
for ers:
Say I want to change the magnum's projectile, I could just copy the magnum.weapon tag, and rename it to pistol_rocketz.weapon and change it's projectile reference to the rocket launcher. Its a 10 second job that really needs no tutorial, unless you are completely freakin' new to the whole halo modding scene.

Either learn how to use Alt + Prnt Scrn, or learn how to use the crop tool...Because those size pictures are seriously taking the piss..
Quite obviously you don't need it.. If you did you couldn't make it in the first place...KIWIDOGGIE wrote:So I made this. I dont need it.

Wow it seems like kiwidoggie is getting alot of guff for helping n00bs out. Actually this tut will work for not just projectiles. Well after we are able to make collision models and animations it would. But I'm sure somebody could make a ghost fly and/or shoot missiles. I think i'm gonna try just for spite.

Sigh, you have NO idea what your talking about.
Your basically saying you can make a weapon fly, make custom models, and
make a biped do a dance, an-
NO.
None of that is possible right now, because of the fact we do not have the tools required for that.
H2GuerillaBeta can only do so little, trying to make it do such things said above, would be impossible.
For now.
We must wait until we have a non-beta program, or some other programs, and release them.
Right now, no one even cares about H2V anyway, even its own developers quit on it, so it is not getting support calls, or doing anything else for it.
Oh well.

So your telling me you couldn't swap the weapon tag of a ghost with a rocket?
And swap the model and collision files of a banshee but keep the physics file so ghost now flys?
Who said anything about changing the physics of a weapon,
i wasnt even talking about that. May not work but its possible.
And if its not possible now it will be soon. Sorry if i'm sounding cocky
cuz i'm not trying to but i think my last post was just misunderstood.

No prob. But all and all this is just another example of what we can do with korn's guerilla.
But for every open door theres another brick wall infront of us. lol
If we could make model tags and collision tags for example it'd be a whole new ball game.
I have a feeling the game will be long dead before it will be 100% open to modding.
