How to boost performance on poor laptops.

Ok, I once played all my halo1 on a 6-year-old Dell. It has the suckiest graphics, but at the time I wasn't exposed to otherwise. So I get a new laptop, and I see the average graphics of an Nvidia graphics card, and I thought they were the greatest graphics in the world because of what I used to know from my Dell. Halo 2 Vista comes out, and because of how great I think my graphics are, I buy it.
I Install it, and I get really sucky graphics with a choppy framerate. I discovered the truth. My graphics are not as bad as my Dell but still suck.
I have been on a long campaign to figure out how to run Halo 2 Vista on a 640x480 resolution.
For anybody who has a story similar to this: Here is a short tutorial on how to do it.
Halo 2 doesn't allow the 640x480 resolution. Halo 2 controls the resolution in fullscreen mode. In Windowed mode, however, Windows Vista does.
Step 1:
Go into Halo 2 and in video settings, set Halo 2 in Windowed Mode.
Step 2:
Exit Halo 2 and right click it and go to properties.
Go to the compatibility mode tab.
DO NOT RUN IT IN COMPATIBILITY MODE. (why is this caps lock if it is obvious? I don't know.)
Check the checkbox:
Run In 640x480 Screen Resolution.
Done!
It improves performance A TON and gets rid of choppy framerates and smoothens video. It is that easy. No extra hardware.
This is very useful for sucky laptops. People with desktop pc's with some of the greatest hardware in the world SHOULD be bored reading this.
