Seriously though, I'm an advanced halo1pc modder and I can't figure this out. How do I use this program and what can it even do?

Basically its only use it to see what tags are inside the map, and save metas. The inject thing caused the app to crash, for me anyway.

Uh, do you have the Dot Net Framework? If not get .NET frame work 2.0.. Since a lot of apps work with that only. And 1.1 works with 2.0.

well im running dot net. its working up untill i try to inject meta. then the meta file im injecting turns to 0kb for some reason and i get a unhandled exception

Does that on mine too. At least the program tells you what offset the meta is at, that way you can do modifications manually.

I must be such a noob... I remember the good old days when I actually understood how HPC editor worked...

I can't find any of the tags like I could in that, I go to weapons, it shows me effects, I go to effects it shows me objects, I go to objects... there is no objects tag.

Would the fact that I'm using XP have anything to do with it, or am is it supposed to do this?

and now for the real reason for me posting. i havent hexed in a while since i move to CE. how do u use the offset to jump to places in the mapz file i use XVII...
