Texture problem after modding

I recently started modding my H2V maps (Uprising), just to play around with a utility, Gravemind (great program btw). One of the things I did was change the arbiter model to an elite in the bipd section. I also changed the grunt models to elites, and here's what happened:

Although the model is intact, there are these wierd black spots on the model.

However, when I go far away from the grunts that I swapped to elites, their armor looks normal.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Those are permutations. In H2X, they were changed in the [hlmt] tag. I'm not sure if Vista works the same way, but there are SIDs in the the [hlmt] tag that define which model is used. PM me for a more clearer answer.

As for your texture, it's not the texture. It seems as if grunt bump maps and detail maps are being used in the shader, making it ugly :|.
