Alright, so I have a legit copy of Halo 2 Vista, and I installed it on XP using the wowloader. I installed it just fine, my windows live account works perfectly, campaign can run, I have the newest updates, and I can browse the multiplayer server list..

However, when I try to join a server, or create a server, I get this message:

Am I putting this thing in right, or what?

I've been reading around and plenty of people have it working, but it just doesn't seem to want to work for me.
Edit:
Yeah, doesn't work on XP, contrary to websites I looked at earlier before I got the game claiming it worked on XP.. I hate the internet.

hence the reason i "upgraded" to vista... wish it actually worked on xp from the start, but i suppose it was a way to get people to buy thier crappy OS.

Yea thats the problem

JK when I put h2v on XP, I could not load any MP maps, the screen would just go black. I don't think you can play MP maps on XP for some reason.

Halo 2 for Windows is not meant to run on XP. Its a vista only game.

I think that was concluded before it come out. Upon announcement actually. But that's not what he's here for. Everyone knows that.

It was a quick change, but as I have heard it was Built, Debugged, Developed on XP for the most part. Then it was ported and stablized on vista.
