HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I've got alot of programming experience (mostly work for university projects, never released anything should that be of interest) and thought I'd like to try and get used to the halo2 map structure.

My question is: where can I find information on this/where to start?

Iron forges white paper, although tbh its rather out of date. It can be found in documents forum.
