I've been thinking about porting a map or 2 from halo 1 just for fun. What map do you think i should do? Actually i'm about 1/2 way done with danger canyon but i'm having so much fun i think i'll do another.

I'll see what i can do, i just have to remember how i extracted the bsp.
P.S. danger canyon will probably be done this weekend. The celings are higher and the cool thing is you can fly up top but you do get cut off by the player cut in the middle.

You extract the bsp with a bsp extractor. DUH.

No need to act like i'm a moron, there are many ways to extract a bsp its just been a while. I want to extract it as an .obj file. With halo 1 pc you can extract the bsp as an .obj with sparkedit. With halo ce you can extract the structure.bsp file with the hekplus and extract it as a readabe file by 3DS. But i didnt know they had a bsp extractor. I'll try it out. What format does it kick the bsp out as?
The part i'm having fun with is extracting the original scenery and placing it on the maps as instanced geometery with the original bitmaps. There are alot of new bitmaps i'm using but i think some of them have to be original just for the ambiance of the original map.
Edit: To whom it may concern i'm almost done with danger canyon and i have a good jump on sidewinder. When i get danger canyon done i'd like some input. I am having some shader problems with the pine trees but i think its turning out alright.

cryticfarm dosn't know much so he acts like that when he finds somthing he knows about ignore him...
the bsp extractor exports the bsp as obj and also exports the material library with the maps uvw's.

Yeah it also extract with the material numbers attached, That is gonna make the process much faster.

Here's a beta of danger canyon. I need to place all the vehicles, weapons, and inside scenery yet along with fixing the tree shaders and i have some floating branches. I have some other shader problems too but its close. Tell me what to fix. I just need to fix a couple more things before it goes into sapien for finishing. And sidewinder has it's shaders attached and i need to place trees and rocks before it's done, probably be a week or two on that one though.

Wouldnt that be sweet.
Sidewinder is a good 2-3 weeks away unless someone else beats me to it because i dont have much time to work on it. And i'm working on finishing danger canyon right now "i'm almost done".
BTW danger canyon looks 100% better now than it did in halo 1 and i'm sure so will sidewinder when i get it done.
Heres a few unfinished pics of dangercanyon. I retextured since then and that is on low quality. Also i messed up the bottom of the pics.

I like what I'm seeing. I don't ask for much from Halo 2 vista, but those look like they'd be fun. Keep it up. I'll download next chance.

Dont download from that link above, i'll erase it, Check in the release section tomarrow or the next day for Danger Canyon.
